This little bundle of sweetness snowbird flew into my patio door about 15 min. ago. It is so stunned that it finally started to move its head around in the past couple of minutes. I moved it to the birdfeeder to keep an eye on it, and to see if it'd snap out of it (I think it might have a small injury too) with other birds around. Now some more snowbirds and a mama Cardinal are around it and it's starting to get frisky. It's looking every which way and moving it's leg and tail. I hope it's going to be OK... If it's not, I'll have to adopt it. Jesse's going to think I'm nuts, but I'm not gonna let it just die out there. Anyway, here's it is...

OMG, I just looked and there's another bird in it's spot!! I also noticed Nikita (our Sheltie) running in the opposite direction, LOL! I had Lily check on the ground, and there's no bird to be found, so that's a good sign! P.S. NO, the dog didn't eat it, lol!

What a great pic! I love juncos (and I have always called them snowbirds too). If they don't do themselves in when they hit the window, they ususally survive. I always look forward to the first day in the fall when they return from their summer homes. I think the same ones keep returning over and over.

Your bit of care and handling could have saved the little guy. He didn't stay long enough to knit him a little souvenir t-shirt "I kissed Mel's glass" "Mel gave me the shirt off her back and more but I wish I would have seen her glass too" "I was picked up and got laid on the birdfeeder and woke up with this t-shirt" "Glass doors can be one big pane"

ROTFLMAO Kevin! Melly, you done good! He'll live to see another day, and another door. That happened to a hummingbird here once, and when I went out to get it... my dog had the tail feathers hanging out of his mouth. When I told him to drop it, he literally spit it out, LOL. He knew I was mad. The poor little guy didn't make it though. 2 big shocks in a row was too much for his widdle bitty heart, I guess.

Have ya'll see the Windex commercial where the bird rings the front doorbell then closes the glass patio door? No? You should. It's funny as hell.
