We never talk about what happens after the cycle is over. Well... I guess that is because some people leave after they are out of pain... fade away into their lives again and don't post...
Here we are after the cycle and Dave is acting almost spastic in activities. He is selling cars, re configuring computers... He has done 3... My den looks like IBM right now. What do you do when the pain ends... Is this a form of extasy... ? Do you get a wave of new life or hyperactivity... ? We ain't braggin by no means... ooo bad English... He still feels the beast back deep in the recesses of his head. Life is good but bad.... Is this a coming down from the Imatrex, Neurontin, Frova, Zomig etc etc that he has been on for the past 4 months+~~~?????????
Just Ree a wondering.........for those of us that hang around here are you different when the pain is gone?

Definitely different vs. when in cycle, but same as before. I take naps, drink beer, go out at night, eat lots of chocolate.

Glad he is well and both of you enjoy it!!!
As for me, I try not to let it get in the way and will certainly let you know if this cycle ever breaks!!

I just call it finally feeling "normal" i'm not dead tired from lack of sleep and wearing pain is my favorite, I no longer feel like a suicidal zombie!!

Yes, life is very different. For me, once the fear and dread was gone, I didn’t have to worry so much about going to sleep, or eating (I get hit after every meal when in cycle) or napping, or having a drink or going to social events – basically it felt like I got my life back.
Last cycle I thought I was morphing into chronic as it lasted almost 10 months. So after 6 months or so I said screw it if I’m going to be chronic I have to go out and live my life the best way I know how to and if I get hit, I’ll deal with it, then go back to living life. The thing is that the fear was ALWAYS there-fear of the next hit.
Anyway, yes, once PF, I was spastic too trying to get everything done (and thoroughly enjoying doing it) that I couldn’t do while I was too sick to do it.
I even enjoy doing stuff I usually hated doing in the past-LOL.
Enjoy your PF time Dave – for a clusterhead there’s nothing like it in the world!

I was chronic for over 20 years and that was hard. On days I was pain free I was thankful and boy I got up and done things like there was no tomorrow. It felt good to be pain free and I always take full advanage of those days. It might not be all fun and stuff like that. It mostly work but you know any day is a good day when your pain free. I clean house, I cook , I go to my Moms, I play with JD in the yard. We go to parks and the zoo. I sleep at night Thats the best thing when hot flashes aren't brothering me LOL!
Now that I am eposidic. Life is nice. Oh everyday life gets in the way but its not so bad when I remeber the pain. It makes me Thanksful for today. I get tired cause I don't stop. I think I am always afraid they will hit again and I want to get in as much as I can before they come back.
Go Dave have a blast!

I've been chronic since 97, so I can't answer that one. Back before 97 I think I just went back to "normal" after a cycle and then went into hibernation during the cycles. It's really hard to remember what life was like before chronic hit.
Let Dave enjoy his PF time. He deserves it. If he's like most of us he has to get his "To do's" done when he can....
