gas/oil co. prick talk

I heard last nite late on some sorta talk show (late nite insomnia stuff) that the oil co's of course had that record profit of sumthin like 10 billion this fall after that price hike we all paid at the pumps and paying extra for shipping products and recieveing at shops ect blah blah blah blah.......but what I heard made me so mad and so sick I had nitemares. The gas/oil co's are 'stateing' the prices were hiked so high to prevent a gas shortage after the huricane disasters so people wouldn't panic and run out and stock up and fill tanks all at once. And if you don't like the prices BUY LESS or DRIVE LESS. So if we all had that reasoning we mite as well all start wearing turbons our our heads. Mine mine mine and you pay pay pay and me get richer richer richer and you get poorer poorer poorer......and next thing ya know everyone does it and runs shops and business's out and gets totally rid of the middle class. Mite as well start priceing tents and camels now Pam This is NOT a political thread......I am not into argueing that stuff publically or knowledgeable enuff to attempt such a feat. But this jus pisses me off.....it is so black and white what happend yet they get away with it and act as if they did what they did to protect us ???? How far will it go. Brad's shop is already feeling the pinch......paper stock went up a big percentage (so did health ins) and now they pay some sort of sur charges on shipped items to cover extra gas prices. They will probly have to pass the increase along to there customers.....and so on and so on and so on and so on which they hate to do and risk looseing clients. I think pay should be mandatory to increase rite along with everything else so everyone can stay in the groove. (well.......it was a nice thought at least......correct ?)

Thank your politicians and the Eco-freaks for not letting the oil companies build a new refinery in the last 25 years. 'House suspends Alaska drilling push'... on CNN right now. Name one person you know who has ever been to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Thank your politicians for not letting the energy companies develop the gas fields off the coast of Florida. Know where Floridians get their gas? Africa. No shit.

Funny. When you think about it we all bitch about the big oil companies but when it gets down to ownership its you and I that own them. Wether its an individual stock, savings account, pension fund, insurance policy or most other funds. Oil is a pure commodity that is priced on supply and demand You demand they supply. If you could get 100 dollars more on the sale of a car what would you do, would you turn it down. The issue is not a shortage of oil it is a demand for oil. I like my SUV. so I must pay. Unfortunately you must pay too. We just did a 5% increase across the board on everything for my company because we still want oil and cant be in business without it. If the price of oil drops will we drop our prices. Probably not as long as someone is willing to pay them.

I'm worried about natural gas prices for heating my home this winter. We have drilling all over this part of NY.you would think that we'd get a little break and they'd supply our area,......wrong.we arent through NYSEG were throuh a local gas company mandatory. Now the NY state dept. of public service is stepping in because Corning Natural gas may not have the ability to obtain sufficient supplies of natural gas.In other words More $$$$.their holding public meetings to let us know whats gfoing on looks like the goverments gonna step in so much better (said sarcastically   Oh well how cold can it get in upstate NY anyways..... Even Washington seems nervous about what we might think of this one. Oh. It's 100 billion, not 10. The CEO of Walmart makes 28 million dollars. What a shame. Really gotta feel for him. Probably have to postpone his backyard golf course. .... Singing "The Internationale" here. Charlie

Let's not forget, people pay more for bottled water than gasoline per gallon. I have said it b-4, but buy stock in companies that make money, who cares how they do it! Lee

If you want someone to rail against, rail against OPEC--the arab producers. THEY are the group who has most control over the flow of world oil. They produce the VAST majority of the oil we use. Exxon Mobile produces a mere 3% of the world's oil supply, the other U.S. companies, even less.

Like forgetfulnot says we pay more for bottled water. Davani small bottles add up to 5.49 gallon. with no refining just ran it through cheap filters. My water from my well comes out cleaner than theirs in tests Cost = about 1.2 cents a bottle before marketing, distribution, etc.. Now those guys deserve their bonuses.
