I got my first of this cycle last night Angry Is the Clustermasx ready to go, or do I need to purchase anything else. Can I hook it up to a O2 tank for welding or is that not a good idea? I'm a welder so I have a large supply of welding O2.

Hi Giff,  I'm pretty sure that you can use welding O2, but you should contact Mr. Happy or Ben for the details.  I just received mine in the mail, and it appears to hook up with the included hose to any regulator.

Giff to the best of my knowledge its good to go as you have it there. I've sent them to others who are using them with welding o2 tanks and they are getting on fine.
I'm so pleased you have one, get it armed and dangerous so you're ready when you need to be!

Just go right to the site, and it's easy to order.  It took about a week for it to arrive.  You will receive everything you need to hook up to a normal health-usage regulator, as well as simple diagrams on how to put it together.  Plus, you can always ask us questions along the way. Grin

I ordered one from the Clustermasx site. It came in in less than a week, regular postage. Haven't had to use it yet but does it ever look like it's going to awesome and deliver a pretty good flow of oxygen.

Clustermasx - order directly from Ben - see:
http://clustermasx.com

$25, shipped personally by Ben himself. They're ready to go for any O2 delivery system that uses standard O2 tubing....which is pretty much everything in the 540/870 regulator family.

All the rest of the hardware can be purchased directly from medical supply outfits or on EBay. I'm trying to keep a supply of used stuff purchased on EBay for those that need it but aren't sure What they need. Another couple dozen 540's are due to arrive here shortly for those that want one and use larger medical or welding tanks. They'll go for $12.50 plus actual shipping. Also keep bubblers on hand, a few cheap NRB's, and 870 plastic wrenches. Bodok/yoke washers for 870's are still backordered.

So.......everything is available to get rolling with O2, either thru your local medical O2 supplier, med supply companies, commercial O2 suppliers, EBay or here.

Is it time for a re-write of the O2 page? Something shorter, sweeter, and right to the point? 25 words or less kind of approach? Better product and terminology definitions?

Sorry to hear Giff. How about giving my thing a try again?

Can't hurt. I promise you that it helped me...a lot.

      Dr. Wright’s Circulatory Technique:

I am not sure what mechanism is triggered by this but whatever it is, at least indirectly helps kill the pain. I do know that this technique has nothing to do with meditation, relaxation, or psychic ability. It is entirely physical and takes some work. It involves concentrating on trying to redirect a little circulation to the arms, hands, or legs. It can described as a conscious circulatory flexing. Increased circulation will result in a reddening and warming of the hands. Try to think of it as filling your hands with redirected blood. The important and difficult part is that it has to be done without interruption through the pain. Do not give up in frustration. It may not work on the first try. Every now and then it will work almost immediately. I lived for those moments. Try experimenting between attacks. You will find that it gets easier with practice.

I was given less than five minutes instruction in the use of method. The doctor, while placing his arm on his desk, showed me that he could slightly increase his arm and hand circulation. After several attempts, I was able to repeat this procedure and use it successfully. I have had about a 75% success rate shortening these attacks. My 20 minute attacks were often reduced to 10 minutes or less. Once proven that I had a chance to effectively deal with this horror, I always gave it a try as I had nothing to lose but pain.

Perhaps it will help if you think of it as trying to fill the arm as if it is were an empty vessel. I used to try to imagine I was pushing blood away from my head into my arm. Use your imagination. There is one man who wrote that his standing barefoot on a concrete floor shortened his attacks. This may be similar as it draws some circulation away from the head. Cold water, exercise, or anything affecting circulation, seems to be worth a try. My suggestion is to not let up immediately when the pain goes. Waiting a minute is probably a good idea. So long as you do not slack off, this has a chance of working.

This technique is very useful while waiting for medication to take effect or when none is available. It costs nothing, is non-invasive, and can be used just about anywhere. It is not a miracle but it helped me deal with this horror. It can be a bit exhausting but the success rate was good enough for me and a cluster headache sufferer will do just about anything to end the pain. It gives us a fighting chance.
