It's Friday night in Africa

It is Friday night.
Afro-Latin rhythms float lazily between the tall palm trees on a humid breeze, like the waves lapping the Mozambican shores. Every obscure little tavern becomes a hive of activity filled with sweaty human forms, swaying to the passionate beat under the starlit African sky.
Suddenly an eerie silence descends upon this small East African coastline. A total power black-out again... it is as if the whole nation is holding its breath.
The minutes drag by. Then a faint cheer starts from the South and moves like a Mexican wave through the darkness to the North and in its wake, lights start to flicker on. The power is back… now Friday night can go on.

Yes that is the spray you use on yourself so that the mosquito's (mozzies not an African tribe... well maybe)don't eat you alive.
The malaria mosquito is a very clever lady, she has a watch and her mealtimes are precisely between 4pm and about 3am.
We unfortunately don't have critters here. The roaches can be as big as your palm and they all fly, the spiders looks like small dogs and the gecko's look like dragons.

There was this guy. He often went away on trips, far from home, Long trips. While this man was away on his trips, his wife would get very very dissatisfied. So the man took voodoo dick back home to his wife and showed her how to get it to hump something. Then, he left for a trip.
The wife waited and waited and waited, but she couldn't stand her urges. She took out the voodoo dick and said "voodoo dick? My-" well, we know what she said. So, it was the best she had ever known, and she kept at it for about 3 hours. Then, she wanted it out. She pulled and pulled, but in vain, for her husband had forgotten to tell her about the little box trick. Finally, she decided to go to the hospital to get it out. She drove kind of wacky, well, because there was something in her. Finally, a police man pulled her over for her driving.
"But..." She told the police man of the voodoo dick, to get out of the ticket.
He laughed at her foolish story. "Voodoo dick my ass!" he cried
I know you like ass joke's Jonny  Must be the mule in you eh??!

Do people have house pets there......like small dogs or cats ? Or does an occational monkey donkey or chicken dominate the pet world ? Do they have cows or horses out there ? Just curious.....things are so different there and I find it interesting how others live. I have a virtual jungle IN my house.....geckos, birds,exotic cats,dog kennel and crickets chirping all the time cuz there in a tank for gecko food. They sound cool as heck tho. Would not like the big spiders tho or flying big bugs or anythng carrying malaria !!!! In the wild Pam

As for necklacing Jonny... it is a gory sight seeing a body burn in tyres. Africa have the tendency to take violence to the extreme.
Pam we have everything like in other countries. South Africa is very first world, most of the time, in most of the places.
In Mozambique you can keep a cat, but they also see cats as food and there are lots of dogs but you can imagine what most of them look like as the people cannot even feed themselves.

So I suppose if my cat came up missing if I lived there I mite not find it in the dryer ? Seen a show on Africal the other nite on one of the learning or discovery channels......alot of talk about HIV and TB......but was amazed at how many people there are that live in such barren areas. So many in one area where there is nothng but dust. Almost seems as if it's areas that should of never been over populated. Sum of it was in refugee camps also. Africa amazes me Pam
