Is the worst over?

Hurricane Wilma hit us as a category 3 last monday monday morning. We lost power at 6 am, and today is the start of the 4th day without power. My wife and I are ok. We lost a lot of tiles from our roof, and most of our trees are gone. Only 2 palm trees are left. We've got plenty of food and water, and 2 propane tanks for our grill. I am one of the lucky ones, as I have a generator which I have been using to keep the fridge and freezer running for 8 hours a day. However, the full tank of gas lasts me about 18 hours. Getting gas has been an odyssey. Yesterday I spent 5 hours to get 6 gallons. Tonight or tomorrow morning I have to do it again. I couldn't go this morning cause I needed to come to work! FP&L is committing to restoring power to all customers by November 22nd. Yes, one more month! I pray we get power well before then. My bellsouth telephone line does not work, and my Cingular cell phone reception is very spotty. The worst part is that I missed the last 2 games of the world series!! Wish us luck.

Here's to hoping that the worst IS over, and the power is on very very soon. Also praying you guys don't get rocked by another hurricane and the festive season be over and done with. Peace, Carl D

I certainly hope this is the last time anyone gets slammed. I know everyone will definitely be watching Tropical Storm Beta closely.

Time for a fucken break in the weather. God you people are getting slammed. Now if the Astros won a game or two and stretched it out to 7, you might not have missed them all. Charlie
