Hey Gang, Just wanted to check in and say hey and thanks to all for the vibes and phone calls of support. I miss you wacky people. Do not yet have phone, internet or cable at home but from what I've seen and heard we are blessed to have what we have. At least we have something to work on. New Orleans is screwed. I am charged with restoring five properties in variuos areas of the city and you would not believe some of the things I've seen. Even the most optomistic can loose hope. I working on posting some photos but I have to digitize them and send them to someone on the board to do what I can't. Anyway...thanks again and I hope to tell you some things in detail at another time. Steve G

No vig...,(well we may). We were to leave last Thursday for a ten day stay in the mountains. I had the choice between a bunch of vacation and no job or..well, you get it. If possible we may be heading to the GSM before the Christmas holiday. Steve G

Came home to phone and internet service and I managed to get an antenna and am now watching baseball on the only channel we can get. Baby steps are events that mean so much. Folks, I really can't explain the totality of the damage. It is so complete and the clean-up is just beginning. I was in the French Quarter the other day and witnessed a garbage truck compressing its load. Brownish liquid squirted from every seam at the rear of the truck and the smell, which you could almost sense through your skin, chased me up the street. I turned back only to see additional bags of trash tossed and floating in the remaining soup sloshing around in the back of the truck. I quickly darted into the Royal Sonesta to have some lunch. But what really made me sick was the $18 I had to pay for a lunch buffet. Tracey, I think my adjuster is tired of me and is beginning to realize I am not going anywhere. I am currently red-lineing his first estimate. Thanks for your insite. Thanks gang for your kindness and it's good to be able to, once again, watch the river flow. Steve G

WOW, it's great to see you posting. Glad to see you got a hold of Tracey and she's giving you some good pointers (OTHER than where the liquor is in the city.....LOL.... ) Be safe while you're out there working. So glad that you and Diane are at least experiencing some much needed baby steps. Tell Diane Hi for me, and please let me know if I can help with anything. Gee, a thought just struck me...........looking at your post, could it be that this storm has turned YOU into a man of more words than before.........hmmmmmmmm................... hugs friend, EDNA

Good to hear from you Steve. You and Diane have been in my thoughts. Glad you didn't miss the game..... Keep us up to date on things. And look at the bright side -- at least you've got job security for a long time. A little 7 year old in church Sunday said they have 400 evacuees in his school. He was praying that they could go home soon (not sure why). Take care of yourself and post when you can. Hugs BD
