I'm done with this whole doctor bullshit. I've decided to quit taking all my meds stop going to the docs and all my counselors. I've got a full time job going from one appointment to the next, for what the same 7-8 ch's a day. I can't live pill by pill and the not a very nice persons who put you on them don't call back when you run into trouble with them. From today on I'm rolling the dice on how shit goes. if it ends like last nov so be it if it doesn't well fine and dandy. either way I don't care. I have this place to come to as long as I don't get dropped from here for being to crazy. I hope not . I just can'tm live like this no more I hate it more than anyone can know. sorry for pissing and moaning but enough is enough

Jim, Honestly, I was waiting for you to come to that conclusion for yourself. I can see how you feel way over medicated and medically overcooked. I also think that you should try and at least keep a counselor for the rest of your brain that's not in pain. We can help you figure something out. Maybe a different doc ... a different approach.....something. We won't drop you..and we'll even return your calls (hint, hint) edit to add: please be careful stopping meds..it can be very dangerous!!! consult one of your docs about that before you tell them off! tons of PF's for you! -rori

Jim I can only echo what Rori said, check with your docs about how to wind down off them safely. Consider the alternatives too And ALWAYS tell us how you are doing okay? lots of love Helen X X X

Ok but pay attention to us here too. You never know. Careful on the tapering and don't go off the deep end with alternatives. Especially natural cures. No one needs colonics to cure CH. Good luck. Charlie

| Ya wrong there, mate. I did exactly the same thing ten years ago for exactly the same reasons. Claimed my life back. It's certainly sound advice about checking first to see if some meds need to be tapered, but it's a decision I've never regretted. Best of luck and let us know how you get on. Brian.

Hang in there whatever you decide. You are correct this board is a saving grace. Just don't go too alternative like I did. Legitimate therapies I used to control/abort an attack. But then again I only have one braincell left that proved to be useless. Blood letting helps about one day but you can bleed to death if no-one is there to stop the flow in time. You will faint though. Shock therapy with high volts and low amps makes no difference but can still stop your heart if you have a heart condition. Getting into car accidents just mess up your car and leave you with a stiffer neck, depending on how seriously you wanna get involved. Drowning yourself doesn't work for me as I eventually needed to breath. So I'm back to a doc myself and hang onto this site like a dog with a bone. <<<<<<<<<Vibes to you my friend>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I don't blame you for having this attitude. I've been seeing my migraine doc for three years. He's a neurologist. I go every 4-6 weeks! He insists that I go this often. He usually tweeks my meds. We go back and forth on whether or not I should stay on Topamax, since the side effects really bother me. Sometimes he helps me out with other medical conditions. I think he is a terrific doctor, but wonder sometimes why I go so often. Wonder if I'm ever getting out of this mess. However, sometimes I think they are also frustrated by us 'cause we ain't the easiest patients either. The silver lining for them though is that we are money in their pockets. Just a thought. It helps me to take charge of the situation. For example, I recently told my doc that I'm not going in every month. I changed it to every six weeks. I also ask him for other prescriptions so this saves me from making appts. with other doctors. And my neurologist is open to other ideas with reference to my treatment. I have gotten better over the years and this is encouraging. However, I wonder if this is the end of the line. If you don't have a doctor that's not a really nice guy...it might be time to move on. What we have to deal with sucks and if they don't get that, than they might need to hit the road.

thanks for all the advise. my inhouse nurse came just after i made my post. agrees about coming off some of the meds but like you guys have said it's dangerous to just drop them cold. they now want to add anti-pschotic meds because i guess i'm such a nut case. have been having bouts where i lose touch with reality. my nurse is really cool and listens really well. poor thing walked in to me going off about my docs and meds. but no matter what there is nothing like my home here and the family i've grown to really love. thanx all.
