Hello all from the wonderfully smelly city of New Orleans! We were one of the lucky ones. Very little damage. Of course we have a blue roof on the house, but other than that just alot of debre to clean up. The entire city STINCKS from rotting food from peoples fridges that are everywhere on the streets. I just got back to work yesterday. Im now working for the Holiday Inn French Quarter. We do not expect to take in any guest for at least six moths. At this time we are only housing employees and first responders. The city really is still like a wor zone. Im glad to finaly be home!!! I left on the 26th of August and just returned on the 8th of October. The whole ordeal only jump started 4 cluster atacks. That was good considering all the woring i have been threw. Well need to go. We have realy nothing do do at work. So i will have time that i have not had before to check in with yall. Take care DougL Doug Lutz

Glad to hear that you're okay, and having a relatively easy time of it with the beasto, Doug. As for the smell, when I used to deal with particularly ripe corpses, I'd put mentholatum around my nostrils and smoke cigars. Good luck... -Frank

Glad you are OK and that your damage wasn't of the catastrophic nature. Get a jar of Vick's Mentholatum and put a little dab underneath each nostril. That's the ONLY thing you'll smell for hours! Just don't let it trigger a CH. If it does, stick with the stink Sandy

Hi Doug, glad to read that you survived that disaster, and welcome back You wrote: " I just got back to work yesterday. Im now working for the Holiday Inn French Quarter. We do not expect to take in any guest for at least six moths." I heard on the news that the French Quarter is shooting for reopening by February in time for Mardi Gras to help support the local economy. No? BB

BikerBob Yes! The city is still going to to have Mardi Gras. The only thing is that hotel rooms are far and few between. This year will most likely be more of a locals Mardi Gras due to the lack of hotel rooms. DougL
