I called my brother to make sure he wasn't riding the subway...he said he'd just come from the subway. He didn't know what had happened, but said he saw all kinds of cops at the top of the steps. He said he was just there!!! I made him turn on the news to see!!! Fortunately, they said the scare wasn't credible yet - but my God...now that my brother is in NYC too...even more worries sometimes! Yesterday morning there was an explosion on my train into Philly. It was found to be a mechanical explosion, but this made me think. At around 7:30am (prime rush hour) there was a sudden bang, jolt, flash of light, and then the train lost power. I eventually got to work an hour late or so - they said a part had gotten twisted and exploded. It happened between my car and the next car, so after having us sit there forever, they eventually loaded everyone off the back car onto the front cars and we left the last car behind...they weren't able to reconnect them. Scary scary stuff sometimes!! Carrie

Yea so what do I do, how do I get to work? Tonight I get chauffered home b/c I'm here late, but what about tomorrow morning?? I know this sounds stupid, but it never seems real until something actually happens. Maybe I'll find a bus that takes a long way into Manhattan.... Pep

Pep, That's what my bro and I were saying. He said if him and his friends went out tonight they were going to take a cab. But like you - how does he get to work tomorrow? It's a little far to walk.... Please just stay safe!! I had no choice but to get on the SEPTA train again this morning after two days of very odd things happening on it. I know ours wasn't a threat, but it did cross my mind when I got back on again this morning that it was just a very odd week on the rails. Thinking of you and all our new york buddies! Lizzie
