Hi Family and Friends,
This is Dave (Tolstoy is dead) ...
I'm desperately trying to find a "package" deal that includes Flight + Hotel + Car Rental from Denver to Las Vegas for 4 adults at the CHEAPEST possible price.
We're actually heading to Henderson, NV (right outside of LV ... I think to the South?)
My Mother, Brother, Annette and I are trying to go down and pay our last respects to my Father. We're all really strapped for cash and as of now are looking to leaving Wed. evening and returning Friday afternoon +.
That's the tough part, such a quick departure date.
From our last trip to see my Dad before he died, we did see that Vegas package deals were far cheaper than any other route. We don't care about casinos or luxury, just want to get there. Most anything I can find is over $300 per person ... sadly that's expensive for all of us.
I'm fading fast now, and finding this difficult to write, so I'll summarize:
Departure: Denver to Las Vegas - Oct 5th
Return: Las Vegas to Denver - Oct. 7th
Hotel: 4 adults - 2 rooms - 2 nights
Car Rental - Mid-size - 2 days
Anyone good at this ... sure could use some advice, sadly I can't keep my mind focused for long and Annette and Mark (my Brother) are busy as can be at work to try to make this trip possible.
I thank ALL of you for all the prayers and support you've been showing us during these overwhelming times we are going through.

You could be there in 24 hours if I remember correctly and with the 4 of you driving it shouldn't be that bad.
Try Mapquesting the time by address to address and see how many miles and hours it will take you to get there. May be the cheapest way to go.

I forgot to mention that neither my Mother nor myself can ride in a car for that distance ... could we ... it would have been our first choice. It's about a 760 mile one way trip ... the farthest either of us has been able to ride is 140 miles and paid a painful price for just that

Looks like if you do it all separately, you'd save a little.
Southwest/alamo/and a hotel like Palace Station/Best Western would total around $1000.00 for all four. The problem is the short notice. Best flight costs usually need 14-21 days advance. I know this doesn't help much but I know how frustrating this can be.
Try www.southwest.com for flights instead of the travel search sites like travelocity.
Otherwise.....Dave/Rex, call me if you need help making something work. Rex has my number.

Thanks all for your help, suggestions, and sympathies. As it happens, Dave will be going with only his brother. I found a great fare on Vegas.com, but the timing was a nightmare for me to get off work for 3 days. In the long run, I think looking after Dave will be a distraction and a welcome one for Mark. Mom has JUST completed her first round of radiation and has become too ill to make the trip. The two brothers will leave tomorrow and be back Thursday evening.
