Thank you....(In Memory of Mom)

I want to thank everyone who has either posted, IM, or emailed their condolances to me and my family.  The outpouring of sympathy and support is overwhelming, and I do appreciate it.

In her memory I wish to post the following.

Marian Louise Solchenberger, 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday evening, September 28, 2005, at Strawberry Lane Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wisconsin Rapids, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3rd at Taylor Funeral Home.  Rev. Al Helms will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Marian was born October 24, 1925 in the Portage County town of Carson to Lawrence and Jennie (Jadack) Krubsack.  She was united in marriage to Richard Kellogg on August 17, 1946 in Wisconsin Rapids.  He preceded her in death on July 6, 1962.  She was united in marriage to Gene Solchenberger on December 19, 1964.  He preceded her in death on September 5, 1980.

She was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed spending her time gardening and bird watching.  She loved the autumn season, and liked to take time out to pick wildflowers and enjoy the fall leaves.

Survivors include 7 children: Karen Downs, Nancy Kellogg, Terry Kellogg, Kathy Little, Michael Kellogg, Kevin Kellogg, and Peggy Flick; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Janet, Bernice, and Doris.

Waiting to greet her will be her parents, two husbands, brother (Gordon), sister (Evelyn), grandson (Jimmy), and great-grandson (Jarred).

Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday.

Peacefully sleeping, resting at last,
Her weary trials and troubles past,
In silence suffered, in patience bore,
Till she was called home to suffer no more.

I saw an act of faith today. A man was on his knees, not in a pew in a Church, but in a garden planting seeds. ~~Unknown

So many of the things in our lives are replaceable.  Mothers aren't one of them.  My deepest sympathies, sweetie - to you and the rest of your family.
