Today was my San Francisco Fiasco #48

Several weeks ago I was talking to Jonny Moseley (Olympic ski champion) and Glen Griffin (a friend of Mayor Gavin Newsom) at a local neighborhood bar formerly owned by Gavin. We were somewhat drunk. We decided to have a ski jump competition in San Francisco. I found several sponsors during the following couple weeks. Last night and this morning, our contractors dumped 200 tons of snow on a steep 2-block section of a street in the elite Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco and we held a ski jump competition today, a sunny day with temps in the high 70's. Some of the police officers were really pissed, but nobody died. Here's the latest news and some pics... http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/09/29/MNGO5EVSM24.DTL BB

I think this one might be my favorite....it nicely captures the bay in the background (I think I took a ride on that boat during my last visit there).

Zounds! That is as they say "way cool." We really could use a S. F. area convention. Probably cheaper in Oakland. Charlie
