I actually have a free moment to say hello finally! I’m Gordo, Langa’s fiancée.
I read Maria’s “announcement #2” post of a few weeks back and wanted to say thank you for the warm welcome and well wishes. I honestly can’t wait to marry her. I’m crazy about this woman.
I’ve been reading some of your posts in the last few weeks whenever Maria signs on and I feel like I know some of you already. The amount of suffering you guys go through to me is incomprehensible, yet I’m amazed at how you continue to persevere together.
I’ve only seen Maria get hit twice and it was heart wrenching; I honestly cannot tell you how blessed she feels to have you all here and if and when her cycle returns, I thank you now in advance for the support I know I’ll receive here as well.
Helen and Sanna – we received your cards in the mail!! Maria didn’t open them until I saw her yesterday as she wanted us to open them together; Of course, I’m such a klutz Helen, that I dropped the little round pieces of paper all over the kitchen floor (LOL). Well, Maria made sure we picked up all of them as she wants those to be placed on the aisle she’ll walk on during the marriage ceremony. Sanna – what a beautiful Finnish card! Thank you for translating it for us!
Thank you again for being here and I wish you all continued perseverance and strength with this illness.

Seriously She is a great person and you are a very lucky Guy. Dont let that one go. I am glad she found someone to care for her and understand what she is going through with CH or at least willing to try to understand.

You know the usual questions asked by family members

Ruthie and I are planning on being in New York in June and as 2 country bumkins in the big city, we will need you guys to keep us from getting lost.
If we could, we would be at the wedding, but thats not possible.

Oh – Helen and Sandie…I loved the cards…Thank you so much!!! That was so sweet of you guys to do…Helen you already know what I plan on doing with the little round papers you sent. I was thinking it and Crystal said they look like little rose petals…that gave me the idea…of course, they’ll have to be collected again so I can keep them for memories…Love you both!

We've known her since before the operation when she was still "Robert" and we've learned to accept her choices...

It was only ONE donut...and Bill kept following me around with the cam...I was hungry...and it sure was yummy... Frank ate the rest of the box...

Yes, I know all too well about Maria’s love of glazed donuts (I do not own a donut shop). We have, however, set a side aside a small plan of action so that there is always money available in the house for donuts. If Maria is happy, Gordo is happy
