So, why is it?

That so many people register as Newbies, ask a question or two, maybe introduce themselves a little, then never show up again? Are they simply not a message board type of people? Do their cycles end and that's that for a few years? Are they cluster "wanna-be's"? (God forbid!) Just a curiousity question .... Kris

I would like to think that most of them go out of cycle, or get the info they needt o fight the CH. Some could be logging in from work only and don't have the time to spare getting online much. Who knows? Peace, Mack

I am a newbie. I have just finished my cycle. I am still here. I have mostly been reading comments and sizing up the personalities here. I am a bit shy I suppose, or just don't want to upset the flow of things here, but I'm listening!!

This is a great site for obtaining information and it equips folks to deal with their particular brand of misery. Some get what they need and leave. Others (me) get a lot of info and just lurk and post only when they have something to contribute. It's hard to jump in with the regulars when you're a newby and don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. As my Mom used to say, Best to keep the shut mouth until you know what's going on! Mike

I came and went at first a couple times, happy to have just any relief. Thought things would go ok on my own but had to hit rock bottom first before I came back and stayed. Live and learn. Glad I had a place to come back to, helped a lot. I owe, forever.

I think that many of us (except maybe Jonny) entered slowly and cautiously. I felt kind of intimidated at first. Everyone knew everyone else. I felt like the new kid in school. Once I finally started getting my feet wet, I just jumped right in. By then, I'd been lurking for months and had even been registered for a while. Of course, some folks go away until they're back in cycle. I've PM'd at least 4 different people in New Mexico who posted once and never even picked up my PMs.

| LMAO.....I was here under a week and told a dude that "If it was up to me you would have no air to breath" All I knew was that after twenty something years on my own with this fuck in my head nobody was going to make me leave CH.com and I was not about to leave on my own. typing to the guestbook felt like I was talking to someone that knew what I had been through, when I hit the message board....Whooa!!!

I'm with you Jonny, I have had to deal with this shit for 20 years with people looking at me as if I was retarded or completely overreacting. Finding a bunch that COMPLETELY understands my problems is AMAZING. Even though I have just ended my cycle, I have no plans on ditching this group. I feel like I've found something that has been missing from my life for all these years. Thank you CH.com.

Glad you're sticking with all the brain-damaged wackos here. Jonny and Don are exceptions. They're not really here; they're figmant's of each others twisted imagainations. I spent a week reading the guestbook before coming here. My puter was new to me and this was the first MB I encountered. No matter the subject of a MB, this place is unique. It's full of information and help on a very nasty disease but also the people are worth the trip. Charlie

| It sometimes feels a bit intimidating to be "new".. everyone else seems to know each other, there's a lot of banter going on - you wonder how you will fit in. We all know that, we were all new once! We are a very diverse bunch of people, from all over the country, from all over the world in fact. We come from different backgrounds, different lifestyles, different religions - we are probably one of the oddest mobs you will ever be a part of! We are all cluster sufferers though and we know just what you are going through, the pain, the fear, the relief of having finally found someone you can talk to who REALLY understands what you are saying! No one here will ever tell you to stop eating chocolate or try two aspirin and lie down for a bit! We are all united here by one thing, PAIN. We ALL suffer with Cluster Headaches. Either as a sufferer or a supporter of a sufferer but we all have pain. Its either the pain of getting hit over and over again or the other pain, of seeing someone you love in agony and not being able to stop it for them. I know which one I think is harder to bear. So jump in! Start a new topic. Feel free to ask all the questions you want, you can't ask anything dafter than I have! (but remember, the only daft question is the one you wanted to ask and didn't) We are all learning stuff every day and sharing the benefit of our experiences, good AND bad. You will make friends here like no others you have ever had, I know I have. Finding ch.com has changed my life, for the better and I know it will for you too.

"Others (me) get a lot of info and just lurk and post only when they have something to contribute. It's hard to jump in with the regulars when you're a newby and don't know your ass from a hole in the ground." I agree with you Mike... I'm a bit shy and it's hard to find the right footing. Having said that, not a day goes by since I found this site that I don't get on for a look. I am so thankfull to you all for still being here, sticking around sharing your stories. And don't havin' a laugh make a difference My cycle this year was short (thanks to advice found here) painful - well goes without saying - but I have hope now! What a difference to know that you're not suffering alone. I think of the times when I truly thought I was loosing my mind - untreated ch's oh my god!!!! HELL This site has been a godsend to me, thanks Kate P.S. you can tell I'm a newbie - can't get the quote working
