I got hit right before I left for Michellle and JMs today, and rode it out like a trooper  Roll Eyes thinking that would save me from a wicked rebound later.

The opening band "Cut Copy" was okay. Not bad. Next was a band I never heard called "Pretty Girls Make Graves" from Seattle. They were great! Reminded me a bit of 70's NY punk. The keyboard player whipped out an accordian on one song... freaked me out! I had no idea you could ROCK on an accordian. Into the 3rd song... BAM! Got hit hard and fast! After the song, Michelle noticed I wasn't clapping and yelled over to me. "Hey!" I turned and looked at her and she just went "OH NO!" I had to get out of there. Normally I don't mind crowds but, trying to get outside for air was HELL!!! I chewed an Imitrex tab and missed the rest of Pretty Graves set! Talk about pissed! I would've rather been hit during the first act. Fucking beast!

Luckily, by the time FRANZ FERDINAND hit the stage I was down to about a level 2 and was okay for the rest of the show - thank God. All I can say about this band is... I liked them alot before I saw this show. Now, I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! The performance was incredible, and the crowd interaction superb! Like Michelle said on the way home tonight, it was kind of refreshing seeing a band onstage that looked genuinely happy to be there. It was the most fun I have had in a very long time. At one point during the show (am I really gonna say this?) I felt like I was seeing The Beatles live. It was that magical. Their first album was very very good, and judging from the new songs they played tonight - the sophmore release due out Oct 4 "You Could Have It So Much Better" rocks even more. I think I have a new 2nd favorite band.

The Beatles will forever be NUMBER ONE!

Peace,
Mack D
