For the Conspiracy Theorists...
« on: Sep 21st, 2005, 11:16pm »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

Last year and this year has seen a rather large amount of landfalling hurricanes.

There have been experiments for many years with something called cloud seeding.  A storm system has water vapor in it, that's the cloud.  Within the cloud, you have raindrops.  In order for a raindrop to form, you need a condensation nuclei.  Some of the experiments of cloud seeding involved using silver iodine to provide that condensation nuclei for the rain drops to form and then fall.  (Having a meteorologist as a hubby provides all sorts of useless information Wink ).

During hurricane season, you have many storms that form off Cape Verde.  If you look at some of the satellite imagery, you can actually see low pressure systems lining up all across Africa.

Now for the conspiracy theory...
It has been a subject of investigation for a long time, that perhaps the sand storms in the deserts and middle east provide the condensation nuclei required for the storms that eventually turn to hurricanes (not all do of course).

If you were a terrorist, with exhorbitant amounts of money to spend, and you knew that the most insidious way to attack the US was through economic devastation, particularly in the oil region of the country, would you think to create a cloud seeding system?   Think about it, terrorists sitting back dropping silver iodine into low pressure systems that could turn into hurricanes and move westward to hit the US.  The ecomonic impact is well known.  How would anyone ever prove it was happening?  How would you defend against an attack that used mother nature when your country and your allies had all signed a treaty stating you would not and could not engage in weather experimentation?

It is something out of a sci fi movie or book.  But then again, so was flying airplanes into buildings until someone did it.

Let the conspiracy theories begin......

I've also noticed that no Muslim males aged 17 to 40 seem to suffer CH.

Could this be another way they're getting at us?

My conspiracy theory lies within the books of Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Malachi, Matthew, II Timothy and Revelation.

Out of everything I have studied throughout the years, it all seems to ring most true.

Unless they have been doing this for hundereds of years, I think its just the normal weather patterns.. plus all the building near the Gulf of Mexico....

If you look at the NOAA website.. you can see that about every 70 years, the weather patterns shift up farther up from the Equater.. causing the Gulf water Temp to be higher than normal... with a higher water temp causes Stronger and more Frequent Hurricanes....

Its been that way for almost 300 years that they have been tracking Hurricanes.. and they have the Satellite picturs to prove its been happening even longer...

I am no waether expert, but if you read the information and weather patterns tracked, its not really anything different.... Actually its supposed to get worse over the next Ten years, before it starts getting better...

Just my  twocents... I don't want to give those A$$holes from the middle east any more credit than they deserve....

Actually, some people have been looking into using cloud seeding technology to prevent hurricanes - if the clouds drop their moisture, they lose energy.

Terrorists don't need to pay the people of North Africa exorbitant sums to create dust storms.  There is already enough overgrazing to expose the soil, and that is not politically motivated - it is poverty motivated - people always trying to squeeze a lit bit more from the land.

The biggest factor in hurricane formation is heat - more warm water = more evaporation = greater chance of large cyclonic storm.

It's the 'Butterfly' Conspiracy.

A butterfly farts in Argentina.
As the gas grows and intensifies, the winds increase. By the time it has traveled 2000 miles across the Atlantic it has become an devastating force of nature.
Something is going to get run over.
Like Pat Robertson said "The butterfly has finally had enough of that Big Easy city. It needed cleaning of it's sinful ways".

Or maybe not.

Charlie (jcmquix Charlie),

I *did* notice the gulf waters were much warmer this summer when I was down there!  As well as was in the midst of Red Tide #3 of the season - which seemed like a perpetual, slightly lower grade red tide as compared with the usual, briefer but more intense red tide.

Perhaps it's the plethora of golf courses that have sprung up in that stretch - as DonnaH suspects. Smiley

Either way....mother nature needs a xanax and a cup  of decaf tea.

You wish.  People who understand the conspiracy know that Bush is just an actor - an elected figure head who's job is to distract the public. The real decisions are made elsewhere.

Not only is The Conspiracy to blame for the monster hurricanes, but they also sent out a monster to rip off the top of Mount St. Helens:
