Tall tale for sunday....
I have a theory for CH.
Aliens have abducted us and placed little receivers behind our eye. They have done this to control us. Once per year, sometimes every 2 or 3 years, the aliens turn on their transmitters that activate our individualized receivers and cause us pain. They do this as a test of our will to live. As the CH pain is the worst pain they are able to dole out, the aliens have decided not to invade us because we are able to deal with the pain. They are not able to kill us, only to cause us this pain. As long as we deal with the pain, the earth is safe (I'm a big X-Files fan, if you can't tell  )
The leaders of our CH clan are those that got special receivers which can pick up the transmissions from all the different aliens out there. We know them as chronics, but in reality they are just picking up the transmissions meant for all the episodics.
The very special epidosics are promoted to chronics.
The aliens have neuros strategically placed around the globe. These neuros are the ones that we eventually find to tell us that we have CH.
Aliens today are studying the unforeseen phenomenon of how we have banded together to understand what is happening to us, in places like CH.com.
DJ is the smartest of the clan. He created CH.com because he was the first to realize the X-factor. But he is unable to tell anyone because if he does, the aliens will turn everyone into chronics. He figured out, however, that the truth is out there, and once it came out, his web-site would be the place to disseminate it.

I remember it well.....
I had no clue what a Hypothalamus was at the time and figured it sounded like a better option than anal probing.
This "learn as you go" crap with these aliens really sucks.

Read more carefully Frank, they gave me options.
Hypothalamic Transmitter Implant or anal probing
the transmitter thingy sounded like the better option at the time. 
Don't confuse these aliens with boys from San Francisco and their horse farms.
