I'm still here. I am fucked fine. I moved into the East Granite projects about a week ago. I would say "Somebody shoot me" but after hearing several gunshots yesterday, I think someone might take me up on it. This place is worse than Crack Ho Village! I thought downtown Granite was bad, the East side projects make Detroit look like Disneyland. Almost scared to leave at night it's so bad. I almost went to Houston with Michelle, but was waiting for word from the housing authority. Sure enough, 2 days after she left the apartment opened up and I had to move fast. I wanted to help with the relief effort but had to take care of shit here first. She has been there over a week now and comes home today. She just graduated with a masters in Social Work, and has been crazy busy with the relief efforts, but takes the time to write everyone and let us know how things are going. I've been sick the last couple of days and hurting pretty fricken bad and can hardly walk, but kind of find it hard to complain knowing what so many others are going through. What is ironic about NOLA getting wiped out is, I have been talking with friends and family for some time about moving down south. My buddy Marty has been trying to get me to move there, tempting me with a sweet bartending gig. When Katrina hit, he was the first person to come to mind, as his father is dying of cancer. I have a few friends down in LA as well as CH family. With not being able to go down and help with relief efforts, I made a donation - and as poor as I am, if I can donate ANYBODY CAN! I was relieved to get an email from Marty letting everyone know they made it out fine and they are staying with relatives in PA. While they managed to pack a few things before the exodus, everything else they own is gone, like so many. With the way the world is, I know now why the Bible says to "pray without ceasing" - There is no end to the need for it. Anyway, I am gonna lay back down to tempt the beast further. I'll try to catch up on the boards here later. For now I am wiped. Peace, Mack Danger Edited cause you can't say HO on here! LMAO!

| Close to it. I lived in E. St Louis in the 70's until moving to Granite City. I had it kind of rough as a kid getting picked on for being white! No kidding. In the last ten years or more there have been gangs developing here and there. Now with Meth getting out of control, the place is going nuts. Thanks for the vibes y'all. I feel better after a 10 minute screaming episode this afternoon. I think I freaked the people out next door too. They stopped yelling at each other after that. Ghetto Fab, Phroek

| Yep. The weather changed bigtime and that fucked me all up. I've noticed the pattern too: insomnia is much worse with Fibromyalgia than just clusters. In fact, I haven't had but maybe 3 hours sleep total the last few days. Trying to keep moving and busy but my legs don't want to cooperate with me. Still not ruling out heading for Houston, as I am sure they will be needing volunteer help for quite a long while I'm afraid. After reading Michelle's emails chronicling her work there, my heart broke over and over, especially for the children who lost parents and or siblings. Peace, Carl D
