Real nice quote from our former first lady

"What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. Everybody is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway so this (chuckle) – this is working very well for them." –Former First Lady Barbara Bush, on the Hurricane flood evacuees in the Houston Astrodome, Sept. 5, 2005

| You know, I actually used to like Barbara. Although it used to bug me to see her keep quiet when I knew she didn't like or agree with George Sr's policy. (Can't stand the silent wife crap) I guess this just proves what she's really like.

When I first saw Barbara Bush, when George Sr. was vice president, I thought that she was his mother. Despite her grandmotherly looks, she is as hard, cruel and class conscious as her husband and sons-the rich take care of the rich and just give lip service to the poor, but sometimes their lips slip and they say what they really believe. Listen to Randy Newman's classic "Louisiana" about a flood in the 1920s....things haven't changed.
