Heard from Redneck

I talked to him earlier this afternoon.  He's functioning on very little sleep and he and his co-workers are being run to a frazzle.

He's *safe* now, surrounded by all sorts of armed people, who are safeguarding whatever he is dealing with.

Doesn't keep me from panicking though.  He usually calls me every morning.  This morning he didn't and even though my *sane* side knew that he was okay (and probably asleep), the *crazy* side kept whispering sh*t in my ear.

I've seen very little of him in the past 10 days and don't even know if I will get to see him when he comes home.  He said that he'd probably come in Tuesday afternoon and leave Wednesday.  If he does that, I won't get to see him at all, because I have to be in Shreveport for an overnighter.

You would think that I could take care of this place with him not here.  I pretty much shouldered my load and his too when he was having bad headaches.  It seems so different now.  I guess that at least with the headaches, he was still* here* and not off in somewhere that is still a dangerous place to be.

pi** and moan, feeling sorry for myself
darlin'

On a bright note, he will be coming home to a nice freshly mown yard (it usually takes both of on riding lawnmowers about an hour to mow the front and back)

Carolyn you moan all you like hon  hug I think you have the right.
Apart from anything else you want to be there when he comes home to give the poor devil the hug I'm sure he needs. I can only imagine the stress he is going through at the pain and suffering he is seeing each day and the same for you too. Its very different seeing nice sanitised segments on the news to being in the thick of it 24/7.
You're both in our thoughts and prayers. Its not easy for you and I think you are coping brilliantly, you have every right to vent.
Give Jim our love when you talk to him, tell him we're thinking of him and you too
lots of love

I don't think most of us can even begin to comprehend what they are goin thru down there. So sad !!! Seeing is believeing Pam

I know it's tough...with all that's going on.

At least Jim is safe....and that's what's important.

I miss hearing from him....I tried again to call him, but I still get that stupid recording about the phones being out.

You and Jimbo are in my thoughts, sweetie.

Call me if you need something....

Much love,

Jean

I talked to him this morning and he will be in tomorrow night but he's not going back until Thursday.  I hate to see how the animals are going to react when he comes through the door.  I will probably  have to fight them off to get to him  laugh.

Boy do I want a cigarette BUT I can't!  I'm almost 7 months smoke free and I'm not going to give in, I'm not, I"m not, I'm not!

He will definitely be home tomorrow night and he's going to try and stay here several days.  And even though I won't be here when he gets home, there's a bottle of 15 year old scotch waiting for him.
