Sometimes "I" need someone to talk to...

Don't get me wrong, I love my Brother dearly, and I will always be there for him. He caled me tonight, to say he and his Girlfrirend broke up. He's devistated. We talked abut the dynamics of trasnsitional relationships as he's divorceing my sister-in-law. I feel for his plight, as I was in the same sort of relationship for a year and a half. It was at the apex that he and his gal broke up just as I and the man I was seeing many years ago did. I tried to explain when this relationship started for him that it wasn't going to belong term, he chose a woman who was fresh off her last relationship and so was he from slpitting with his wife. It was transitional, meant to fulfill an immediate need and not a long term need. I cried with him and for him as he was in deep dispair. he knows the relationship was toxic, but he misses her all the same. He's been the only one in my family to make an attempt to inderstand what I've been threw with my head... He's witnessed a few attacks and was the one at the bar the night we couldn't get to the door and I was the public side show attraction. I'm so honored he feels he can come to me but sometimes I need him to be the strong one. Sometimes I need to rely on him too and what he's going threw I can't ask that of him.... Gawd someimes I feel so gawd damned alone.....

Hello Redd...I'm Ken. I'm pretty new to the forums but not to this site. I was looking around and came across your post. From what I understand, your brother needed you tonight and you were able to be there for him, but at the same time, I gleened it may not have been a good time for YOU to do so. Am I reading this right? You don't say why so that's why I'm replying to you. Is everything ok honey? I'm a great listener...maybe I can help you put things in perspective? I'll be on for a bit puttering around in my kitchen and I'll keep checking to see if you've cared to respond. Ken

I know where you're coming from Pegg, I sometimes feel more like the family counselor than a part of the family, and being single and alone doesn't help much either. Hang in there kiddo, if you ever need someone don't be afraid to give a shout Ben

Pegg, I wasn't blessed with siblings, but I have lots of friends who need me but I can't rely on them when I'd need a shoulder to cry on. Like you, I love to help out, any way I possibly can. I'm honored that I've been able to help and I will without hesitation be tvhere in the future. But most of my friends cannot give anything back when I'd need it. It has been a difficult lesson to learn. I do have friends from uni who I can rely on. And I have you guys. But still part of me hopes that those friends I've had since I was 12 would be there for me, too... When you need someone to talk to... recall that I'm just a skype call/IM away. Always. Sanna

You know I'm here... ... whenever! I owe you after Dallas... I know exactly how you feel. I am the youngest of 4 kids and for some reason I am the one who always takes care of everyone else. I spent 2 hours yesterday morning calling all over trying to get my mom into a Dr. to get blood tests run and for her to get a refill on her diabetes meds. I know it's hard to feel like you have nobody to talk to but you have an entire family here that cares enough to listen and offer advice when you need it! I love ya, girl! - Karen
