Back from Rome

Hi guys! I'm back from Rome. It was a fun trip, I must say. I had 3 pastas (bolognese, carbonara, bacon with tomato sauce), ravioli (with cheese and tomato sauce), 3 pizzas (ham, pepperoni & sausage with broccoli), one fish (yep, whole fish), quarter of chicken and 2 fruit salads for dessert. NO donuts, sorry... I saw Pantheon, Piazza di Colonna, Trevi fountain, Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish stairs (and walked them all way up), the Vatican (museums, sistine chapel & St peter's church), the Colusseum, Forum Romanum, Piazza di Bocca della Verita (and took a pic of the mouth of truth), St Maria Maggiore's church and St. Clemence's church... It was a busy week... And I went to a day trip to Naples and Pompei ruins! It was a fascinating trip. I was impressed to see the ruins and Vesuvius. We had good luck with the weather. Lots of beautiful, sunny days. There was some rain, but like 5 minutes. And I did flirt outrageously with a cute Italian guy while mum was busy looking at leather bags... but don't tell her that. She thinks I was looking at shoes... I came back with 5 packets of pasta, 3 shirts, skirt, neclace, earrings and a bag. We also bought a book from Rome and Pompei. I hope you've had fun while I was gone! PF wishes to all, Sanna

I'm sorry girls... mum can look pretty scary when she's determined. That must have scared all the cute Italian guys... Pics will arrive as soon as I'll learn the technicalities. I'll try to do that tonight. Most of the pics (70 of them) will be ready in the early days in September. unfourtainly mum will have them here in Helsinki, so it will take time before I get my hands on them and can scan them for you to see. But good things are worth waiting, right? Casey, I must dissapoint you. No pics of the fish... sorry. We were too hungry to recall to take a pic of it. Best wishes, Sanna

| It was and it wasn't, actually. The food was amazing like I thought it would be. I didn't drag lots of pasta back home for nothing... There were so much more sights and picturesque buildings to see than I imagined! I love beautiful buildings, so I was pretty much in heaven the whole time! The streets were in terrible condition, though. It bothered me as I love to walk and walked a lot. I tripped on the Day 3 and ended up having a band aid on my knee for the rest of the trip. Otherwise, no complaints. I did wish I had taken my laptop with me so I could have teased you every day from Rome... Sanna

Great to hear you had such a wonderful time in Rome. I know you and your mother were a bit worried about traveling there. But I'll bet it's still great to be home again. Even if it was Rome you were visiting. Rome may be OK, but there's no place like home. Tom
