Ever wish you could do this during a Kip 10? http://www.m90.org/view_image.php?image_id=7107 Have you ever done it? (I have) Did it help the pain? I was so out of my mind in pain I threw a huge cooler full with beer and ice right through a wall, next, I threw a 27" TV right through a window. Was I still in 10 pain?, you bet your ass and thats the last time I did that. What say you? Edit to add: One last question. Have you ever had a feather tickle your ass the Kip 10 was so painless?

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

I've never hurt anything but my own head (by banging it) and others feelings (because I become some other angry person who has no regard for anything else till it's over). I kinda like my stuff too much.

Ice bags, when heaved full tilt against a wall, make the most unique noise I've ever heard, as does a skull when you whale it off a fridge door. Next time, perhaps I'll just break china instead - looks like a lot more fun!

No never done that , but I wanted too. The worst I ever did was yell at my family for not being fast enough on getting me my med or something. Then I felt like crap later for yelling at them.

Worst I did was was go stark raving insane in the shower at 3 am one morning, and knock a few precarious boxes over in the store room at work last winter.

Um, it was 1998, my first year chronic. I lived in a studio apartment (it was studying to be an apartment) and every cycle the CH's got more intense, and at that time, I was getting hit left and right, and it completely ruined my life. I took it out on that place bigtime. Busted shelves throwing them, broke a kitchen table in half by kicking it in after I had slammed my hand down on it and broke the leg and it keeled over. Did it help? FUCK NO! It kept the blood pumping hard and fast enough to keep that consistent boiling-over Kip 10. Broke my thumb once punching the basement floor, and thought I had just busted the thumbnail but as the CH subsided I noticed my thumb was swollen, throbbing and turning blue. I was like, "aw hell - at least I can still play guitar with just my fingers." WRONG! Couldn't hold a guitar for 3 weeks of pure abandonment. Smashed up a phone for not dialing/ malfunctioning - back when I thought it was an anyueurism or tumor ready to blow due to the CH. Cut my hand up, made it to the ER just in time for the beast to start subsiding. Clusters will make you do funny things, like tell your boss to go get fucked by the whole fucking store and their warehouse, as you stomp away grabbing your head looking worse than Jack Nicholson attacking Roy's tiger. Nowadays, I sit indian style (imagine that) press into my jawline/ behind/under the ear to cut off pressure flow. I focus on breathing deep breaths. Sometimes, for fun, I beg God to kill me right fucking now. Other times I just say "Fuck" whatever. Kind of like "Fuck Betty Crocker. Fuck the Economy. Fuck granola. Fuck all this fucking fucked up shit." Etc. War in Pieces, Carl D

Nope. Usually just bang my head against the shower faucet or hit it with my fist. For some reason, having my hands away from my head while I'm being hit, seems abnormal for me.

Let's see.... I threw a watch at a wall once...it didn't break. I threw an old cassette tape case which was sitting somewhere in my path, and it shattered. I threw my keys at the piano stand of a practice room piano once - they gouged it...I felt pretty bad about that one....after the pain stopped. Lots of times I scream like an insane person when in my car while beating the living crap out of the steering wheel...but I haven't broken THAT yet. Kicked a wall several times...hurt my foot more than the wall so I figured I'd better cut that right out. Now this has nothing to do with CH but everything to do with that link - we were getting rid of an upright piano at Penn State, so the one music organisation, as a fund raiser, allowed people to pay a dollar and take an axe hit to it. I swear I couldn't even watch. Fortunately nobody was hurt - but have you ever seen an axe hit a tension board on a piano? I've busted some strings playing before, and one hit me in the forehead once popping off....that left a pretty mark! (Moral of the story is...one should wear shop glasses when playing a grand piano. LOL) CH *does* tend to cause me to have anger management problems at times...

Whipped a bag of frozen veggies across the backyard. Worst thing I have done was sitting at the kitchen table rocking and banging my head on the table and sliced my head open. Didn't realize it until it was over and there was blood all over the table, my shirt and the floor. That sucked. I got hit about a month ago and was banging my head on the table again and Chris came in and put his hand between my head and the table. Such a sweet supporter he is! - Karen

Karen, Two weeks ago Wednesday night, all unholy hell broke out on my head. Four (Dylan my son counted) back to back kip 10's, I was grinding my head into the carpet, Meg was running the ice packs till the ice bin was empty, till pain and exhaustion made me pass out right there on the floor in the living room. Meg then covered me with the blanket off the loveseat, and Dyl slept on the couch in case I woke up again with another hit and needed anything. (I didn't,... thank the powers that be) There are great supporters in our lives we just need to open our eyes and recognize them.

YOW! I have had a night like that too! I wish I had been there to help. I have thought so much about seeing everyone get hit at the convention and I think I can handle it now. I haven't been that emotional since I was pregnant! I know it is hard for Chris but I don't think because of the way I am when I have them because I'm usually pretty quiet, just rock and moan but because he doesn't like to see me in pain. He went with me to the neuro on Monday. I was shocked. Very cool to have someone that cares and wants to help and learn. He's a lurker around here. I wish he would post more but I think after DavCon he will after he meets some people. He's such a great guy and incredibly funny in a sarcastic way. He'd be a great addition to the "family"! Hope your head gives you a break soon, Pegg! I've been getting smacked pretty hard lately and just started the Neurontin. Holy crap - it's like taking a bunch of Tequila shots. Bleech. Yucky feeling but I am hoping that will pass in a few weeks. - Karen

Never did anything crazy over pain ... last time I got mad and decided to break something, it was a glass shelf. Cut every tendon in my right hand and cost me a $15000 surgery and 6 months of traction. I never did anything like it again. UNsolved

| Oooh....and hand traction looks like a midevil torture device. Was it that kind of traction?? That's what kept me from smashing all 10 fingers in the piano fall board on multiple occasions when pissed off at my own playing and wanting to quit! That hand traction contraption is enough to give a person nightmares!

I don't think I've ever broken anything, but I've punched myself plenty of times, grinded my head into the floor, and banged it against the wall. I did come very close to taking out 3 drunk NEDs in Edinburgh one night who called me an American A$$hole. My head hurt so badly that I thought, "There's 3 of them, and one of me. But I am sure that whatever they could whip up will not be near the pain in my head right now." I actually thought it might bring relief. Casey
