OK, so I'm going through a phase right now that everytime I lay down or sit down to watch TV I get a headache.  If I sleep too long I get a headache.....what is this about?  How can I get rid of them?

Go to the doctor Kim!

Do you think that you are entering your CH cycle?
How have the migraines been?
Had your eyes checked (TV part)...then again I know of someone here who gets whacked with CH when watching TV.

Wish I knew my friend.

Let us know!

I'm not certain if I'm entering my cycle.  I have had a few bad headaches over the last couple of weeks, but I'm not sure.  The migraines are coming a little more often.  I'm so confused.  I just want to take a nap or relax sometimes, but I get hit with a headache when I want to chill out.  It's pissing me off.

TV is a trigger for me, when I'm in cycle. Last time I was in cycle, I watched "Pi," and "Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow." Both of them had me doing the "clusterhead shuffle."  Undecided

This may be true for me, too. The worst daytime hits for me, have always come about a half hour after lunch. Hrmmm...

But the types of headaches that I'm getting right now aren't clusters, they're just restless headaches, that's how I classify them.  They hurt really bad, but they're not clusters.  What do I do?

First thing, is that you should probably go see your doctor. Anytime your headache patterns change, your doctor should know. They may be hormonally related, stress related, or they may be indicative of something else. A good starting point is to see your doctor.

I know that I should go to the doctor, but my funds aren't that great right now.  So, I don't know what to do.  I don't want to run my ass off all day just so I don't get a headache.  Sometimes I just want to lay down or chill out, and here lately I can't do that.

OK, but I strongly think that I am not in cycle.  Normally when I'm in cycle I have a lot of CH's, but I'm not having any.  This happens every once in a while.  I really don't think that I am in cycle.  I just don't know what to do about it.

Doctor is a good idea and I hope TV isn't something new to worry about...rats if true.

Come to think of it, my first attack was when I was watching Johnny Carson, way back in 1959. TV certainly wasn't a trigger though.

Are you taking a lot of over the counter meds to treat these headaches?  Only asking because some people do innocently get themselves into medication overuse headache, which ALWAYS strikes people as an out-of-character type headache....most people don't pick up on where it's coming from.  My guess is that you're probably not doing this (and also it doesn't really sound like MOH headache), but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I think I have the trigger sensor from hell.  For CH - it seems like some odd things will set it off - mostly being overtired or sleeping too much, not eating often enough (eating at mealtimes is definitely NOT a trigger for me!), bright lights, sudden shifts in my eye movements or stress level (up or down as far as stress is concerned), and of course.....the typical pattern-ness for me.  4am is a time I've learned to dread - everything else might be random, but I'm up every night at 4am.

As far as migraine, for me you can take that trigger list and add about 100 things to it.  I describe it as anything out of the norm is some type of trigger for me.  Any sudden sound, lighting change, smells, change in schedule or sleep patterns, change...at all.....triggers a very bad worsening in my daily migraine.  CH also makes my migraine way worse...can't seem to get back down to a tolerable baseline once the CH has come and gone.

I'm not so good at lying down with my migraine though, either - although it's what I want to do with the migraine (not the CH....obviously) - I feel like you are describing - I get really restless - jittery almost.  It's like I'd just want to pull it out of my head if I could - or climb out of my skin - can't seem to get everything to calm down and my nerve endings feel fried.  Almost like electrical wires that are shorting out while a water leak continues to fall on them....you see those last sparks randomly firing off everywhere - that's what my nervous system feels like to me....somehow I shorted it out or blew it up.

CH is a totally different character for me - so it definitely is a distinct difference.  Can't even think about nerves or anything at that point - not until after it's over.

I'm with everyone else here - always good to go to the doc when you experience new headache symptoms.  Is there any way you could even get to a general practitioner or even go to the ER if you can't get to a neuro?  I don't know your insurance situation, but there are various options, depending on what your situation is!  I hate to see anyone just suffer through something like this just because they can't afford to see a doc....that's no good. Sad

Hugs and hoping it goes away and leaves you alone!!!

Haven't you also remained on your preventatives for the entire time that you were "out" of cycle???

It may be low level CH that is just being supressed by your meds.

Either way since it something "new" get to or contact your doc.

Hi everyone, thank you for your posts....and Tom, just so you know, I'm 24 and I have never once had any problems with my vision, but definitely something to think about, and if they told me that I needed bifocals I would probably flip out!  Anyhow, I have been doing ok for the past couple of days.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Thanks again guys!

Kimmie--have your eyes checked. It is a safe place to start. It could be seasonal pollen. I know ragweed is rearing its ugly head in the MD/DC/VA area last week and my contacts burned [had nothing to do with doing 90 MPH w/ the top down on my 330 CiC]  while driving last weekend on the beltway.  Grin
24, huh? I was 24 just last week.   Wink

It could be you are having eye problems.
If you need glasses or stronger glasses some times watching TV can give you a headache.
