No not from a wild night in the sack ! 
I got up at 4 am not with a cluster but with ambition. 
Today is my Grandfathers birthday. He use to tell me if you want good Mustard greens and Turnips, Plant them on his birthday. This year we planted only Tomatoes and they turned our GReat. We will have tomatoes till the weather gets cold.
I bought seeds yesterday, and got up at 4 AM and started digging up grass, to make my garden spot for my Greens. I got it all dug. Buddy works so hard durning the week I did not want him doing it. Buddys up now and has taken over the work. Now after my break I will go help him add some top soil and mix it and then make my rows and start planting. I can't wait to go outside and pick a mess of them and cook.
Vegables are always so good when you plant them yourself. Plus I have some dear angels that will watch over my Garden and bless it.
Well got to go back to work! When we get done we will both be breathing hard, and when we hit the sack tonight we will be to tired to do any thing but sleep
It will all be worth it when we sit down to cornbread and greens !

Go for it Elaine.... sounds like a plan....I'm so jealous of the nice weather you guys seem to get year round.... We are on the decline here....it will get cooler and cooler in Massachusetts now..... bummer....I hate the Winter enjoy the greens......love ree

Just before Fall is the best time to plant Greens.
It doesn't get cold here untill December and sometimes
January. Greens do better in the fall than any time. How the greens do depends on the weather. We have had record breaking heat here the last few days. We have hot weather alerts the last two days. They are warning us not to get in the heat. That is why I was up so early.
Personally with these hot flashes. I am ready fore winter !
Buddy has a hot Job he works out in the heat all day everyday. He loves it. I like the cold weather.
Love ya Ree give Dave a hug for me and tell him he is in my prayers.

I use several things depends on what I have, some times I use ham hocks, some time bacon greese and some times fat back! Buddy hates anything cooked in fat back, I cook with fat back when he is not home. (throw it away add ham hock and he never knows the difference ) !
Cornbread Greens and Black eyes mixed together in a bowl, now thats good eatting. Its southern eatting anyway! Fresh greens are the best!
Langa I will save a place at the table for you.

Elaine if I lived closer I'd be there for dinner!!! Do you live near Atlanta? I might be there soon...perhaps you can prepare a lonely single woman a home cooked meal??? And i'll bring a lil tupperware too - ya know to take some leftovers home if you had any left that is...

Me...I get the greens at the grocery store and only breathe hard when I'm gettin' wild in bed ...or taking a very short walk  .

I only breathe hard when I'm eating in bed.
When I used to have a veggy garden, I loved the young beet greens best......better than any other greens, covered with butter, salt and pepper.

I live a hour south of Atlanta. You name the day you got it! My doors always open to my ch.com friends. There is always plenty of food here to go around.
