What's for dinner revisited.....

Ok....I'm bringing this back, since I'm feeling very good today ..and plan to actually do some cooking... Porkchops are marinating in my special recipie, and they will be put on the grill, along with cornbread batter in a loaf pan to pull in the succulent smokey flavor. Because Megi has braces and can't eat crn on the cob, I'll be getting out some frozen corn coutesy of my best friend Suzi who cut it fresh off the cob and froze it last year, and asparagus. What are the rest of you making?

Happy Anniversary Matt and Mary!! I hope you have a lifetime of happiness together. Pegg... that sounds good. If I were closer, I'd drop by. Glad you're feeling good, hun. It's green chile roasting time here in NM. I'm going to make a pot of green chile stew. Beef, pinto beans, potatoes, corn and lots of green chile. With warm flour tortillas on the side.

I LOVE Chiles....Megi won't touch them... I'm chopping jalapenos and onions into the cornbread batter as well. I'm in the mood for a little "spice".... Thanks for the idea sis...smokey cornbread with a kick...

I went to an Irish pub/restaurant last night and had the tastiest shepard's pie. And the bread was really different--kind of a non-sweet soda bread with corn in it--really unusual and yummy. I'm going to try to duplicate the flavors in the shepard's pie. It was definitely not bland. Now that the days are getting cooler, I'm in the mood to cook again, and I love to cook. We can share ideas
