Walking YUCK! In 100 degree weather SUCKS

The doctor said I have to walk. Walk is cool I love it. Walking on our dirt road is undesireable. You eat dust every time a car comes by. No matter what time a day there are cars traveling the road.

Yesterday I got up felt good. Told JD today we are going to dusty Trails and see some animals. Its a nature trail.
So off we went. We had a picknick and played on the play ground then went walking. We saw all kinds of animals. Fox, bob cat, Owl, Wofe, bear, trurky, racoon and many turtles and snakes. I stopped at the stre and had brought us water to take with us. I got a extra bottle to use for washing hands.

I got so hot I couldn't stand it. Then I lost our truck had to walk extra to find it. I was so hot each step was hard, and that truck looked so far away.
We got to the truck and I got out some paper towels and poured some water on it. I went to wash my face and thought on this smells funny. So I figured it was the towells and got some more off the roll. Again I poured water on the towel and again it had a funny smell. OH well its to hot to worry about the smell. I wiped my face and JD's. It felt so good.
We were headed home and I felt sticky my face. JD wanted some water so I handed him the bottle of water I had just open. He took a big drink and said YUCK that taste bad. I said give it to me, took a big drink and like to of spit it out. It was rasberry flavored water.  I agreeded YUCK! When we got home we took a cold shower and I was to tired to do much. I just sat on the sofa wore out. I did get up and put a meatloaf in the oven.
Buddy jumped all over me. I told him it was all in the shade. Everywhere to walk is in the sun. All the parks here are in wide open sun. I figered it would be cooler in the woods. I think it was hotter.  Grin

JD wanted to go walking again today! He had so much fun! Oh to be young again.
Its been a 100 degrees here. Save my heart have a heart stroke hmmm hard to chose! Cool
I have talked him into a swim in his pool. I will just lay on the float and kick my feet  Grin
Thats my kind of walking.  Grin

Elaine,

Instead of  walking outdoors in the heat, go to your area mall and walk inside there....

Overheating yourself is dangerous as well as for JD.

Go to the mall where it is nice and cool.....

Just leave the credit cards at home!

walking in the pool is actually good for you as well because the water offers resistance.  I just bought me an indoor treadmill.  Ted and I love it!  Good luck on your exercise routines.  Stay safe.

Elaine!  Be careful out there, I believe you about it possibly being hotter in the woods... have had more than my share of that this summer  Roll Eyes.. Even got zapped by lightning in my behind - through a cabin rod though - thank god it was only my butt leaning on it and not my head!

See, I did that kind of walking down in Texas too Grin !

Elaine, sounds like a good idea, though seeing all that wildlife is a helluva lot different than putting JD on a mall ride like the carousel.  BUT , if its hot, probably your best bet!

Love your stories, say hi to Buddy and tell him to stop jumpin all over you... if you want to that is... Wink

That's what I was going to say, too. What's best is that you can just drop yourself down and really cool off. Keep up the good work, but be safe! hugs, nani

A mall would be nice if we had one close by. Remember I live in the country. Its a good hour to a mall. I don't need to get around stores I have no will power when it comes to shopping ! I think thats why Buddy moved me here. He forgot about online shopping  Grin

Have you seen the cost of a treadmill? They made me pay them $500 before I left the hospital. Buddy started to tell them just to keep me !  Shocked Doctors just amaze me. They say don't get stressed out then send you a bill higher than your house payment. I am temped to send the bills back to the doctor with a letter that says. Are you trying to kill me ?
I am back to saleing on EBay and that what I am saving Money for . I like the idea of watching TV and walking at the same time in air cnditions.

Oh the pool is just a baby pool. I was craking a joke about laying on a float and kicking my feet.laugh

Oh don't worry about JD . He wasn't even hot. He had on shorts and two bottles of water in his back pack and a wet band on his neck.. Plus he got wet in the creek.
He wanted to walk more. He didn't even break a sweat.
I take good care of JD.
I think I was having hot flashes along with the heat. The only way I like heat is if I am on the beach.

I wish you lived here E.

There is a walkway all the way around and above the seats in our new ice rink. Everybody is encouraged exercise there....they even provide a funny pamphlet about it.... 8 laps is one mile and all us old geezers huff and puff there. It's fuckin' freezing in there too.

Stay well, stay cool.

We have a big recreation complex here that has a walking/jogging track indoors. It's great.
I go there with my wife. She walks. I don't like walking so I go to the pool and watch the girls. It's great!

Please don't do any walking up to the girls walking the Strip. Some of them are so nasty you could catch the clap from their breath.  Shocked

And the ones on Fremont are worse.

And some of them aren't even girls.  yikes

Sorry for the hijack Lady E. Back to the original subject now.  Cheesy
