Some time ago people commented on what accent I speak (by the way I write). I have since tried to speak(write) more American/Brittish English. This might give you a clue why I sometimes battle... http://www.christianguitar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=68683

I don't care what accent you speak/write/communicate with. I understand that CH is a problem with people world wide and this family can understand each other pretty good. BTW: I have the typical Chicago area, regional, loud, sounds like I'm pi$$ed off kind of accent. Should I assume from this link that you are another of the many musicians that come here?

you worry too much. read a couple of cootie's posts.... and you're worried about an accent being inflected in your posts----- not to mention Helen deeply trying to hide the origina of her accent.... it's all these different styles that makes it kind of fun here sometimes. scott

Jas, No worries. Even when we DO have something that gets lost in the translation it usually gets worked out. Last time that happened to me I ended up with a lifelong friend....Right Svenn? DD

| I'm just scared I make life long enemies by insulting people when I really just wanted to be sympathetic or say what's on my mind. You see the problem with writing is that you have to choose your words and smilies right, it's not like speaking face to face where people see your expression, body language and hear the inflextions in your voice to get the correct message. Musicians don't usually use the bar measure for their b flat ,except Jonny, that's always tying people's spelling to a stave and that makes me quaver on my c-sharp! So in real SA English: "It's a lekker jol to have okes like you to chill with!"

| African nursery rhymes are very cruel, I'm sure you would also be careful not to get mauled by a vengefull lion! (That's the gist in this rhyme!) Here's one in English but sung in many African Languages: "Simbamba, Mommy's baby, twist it's head off, throw him in the ditch, jump on his head until his dead!"

Thanks kids. Ya gotta admit that language stuff is fun. Here in western, NY we all sound like the weather channel. Boring. Now 75 miles north in Buffalo there is a hybrid that sounds a bit like Brooklyn lite. Charlie

We Aussies have a bit of an advantage here in that we don't have an accent at all. Fair dinkum, it's only people from other counties have accented speech and unusual turns of phrase.
