...I dropped off my little girl Jessica for her first day of kindergarten... *sigh* They grow up so fast! Took a couple of pics to share with our cluster family.... Here she is...All ready to go.... Walking into school with her strawberry shortcake backpack... Getting her name tag from her new teacher.... Mom is being brave at this point and NOT crying while she hangs up her little backpack in her cubby... Little brother Justin is NOT happy that he doesn't get to go to school with his sister....never fear, he stopped crying when I gave him a donut Thanks for indulging me....Hope you like the pics! DD

DD beautiful kids! Yes they grow up too fast. I still remember my daughter Roxanne's first day. Now I have again tears to shed as she is leaving school this year and it felt just like yesterday when she started. But us Mothers we have the right to cry at every achievement! And like Frank says:" Letting go is hard to do"

Awwww, it's hard, isn't it DD? Lily starts 5th grade on Sept. 1st, and I guarentee you I'll cry after she gets on the bus. I have cried every first day of school since Pre-School. Eli is gonna be upset too, so I bet he'll know just how Justin feels! ((((hugs)))) mel

This is one of the hardest days in the mummy calendar.. the day someone else becomes an "authority" the day your opinion isn't the most important in the whole world and suddenly you aren't always right anymore but "miss" is.. its a toughie.. If its any consolation "Miss" has 30 of the little darlings telling HER that MUMMY doesn't do it like that mummy does it like THIS and she gets 30 variations on the theme too.. small justice but worth it!!

All I Ever Really Needed To Know I Learned In Kindergarten Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in Kindergarten. Wisdom was not found at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school. These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. don't take things that aren't yours. say you're sorry when you hurt someone. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush the toilet. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work everyday some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder and wonderful things. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are still all like that. Goldfish and hampsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup - they all die...So do we. And then remember the story book about Dick and Jane and the first important word you learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK! Everything you need to know is there, from Kindergarten, somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation...Ecology and politics and sane living...Think of what a better world it would be if we all--the whole world--had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then laid down with our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in our nation, and all other nations, to always put things back where we found them and to clean up our own messes. And it is still the truth, no matter who you are or how old you are, when you go out there into this world, it is best to hold hands and stick together. by Robert Fulghum Milestones like these are so hard for us, big hugs to the three of you!

darlin' Donna I remember my kindergarten teacher; making sure everyone was under her watchful eye and attention, stopping the class for personal directions just for ME when needed, and with her all-seeing knowledge, guiding me with just a point of her finger saying... Go Stand in the Corner!

Aww Donna it does get easier (kinda) .April will be going into third grade and Bethy will be going into second.Seems like just yesterday they were off to headstart.(me too I volunteered alot was on a lot of committees ands eventually got a teaching assistant job there)The girls are real close so April walks Beth to her class every morning and then heads to her class.I told her she didn't have to because she always had morning work waiting for her on her desk. She insisited it was ok even though their classrooms were at opposite ends of the school. This year their in the same wing of the school(poor teachers) School doesn't start till September third and the girls can sometimes make you wish it started.Restb assured it been a few years but I still waive goodbye until the bus us out of sight then go home and cry like a baby waiting for the bus to bring them home. Minnie who's not getting any older though her kids are

Great pics! Today it is kindergarten. Tomorrow will be the words "Can I have the car keys?" My niece started high school today, and the shock still hasn't quite set in yet. Kids grow faster than weeds. Peace, Carl

Very cute kids Donna. Nice pix too. One thing: Do they still try to get kindergarten kids to take a nap during the afternoon? It was mosty to give the teacher a break but when I was 5, they always told kids that it was one way to prevent Polio.....Scared the shit out of us. (1951) Charlie

Oh, Donna! They are gorgeous babies you have there, huh? Now, don't worry about crying - you are entitled to cry on the first day of school and any day after that that you feel like it - that is our right as Mommies. My "little" guy starts 2nd grade tomorrow and I have already been told "Don't cry and embarrass me, Mom!" 7 years old and already a smarta$$ like his Mommy! I LOVE THAT KID! Hugs and love! Karen
