Do you think the owner heaved the porcupine at the dog?
This is more common than you may think. Not as severe as this one thogh. Dumb dog kept going back for more.

Looks like the dog was intent on making the porky pay for the first few quills it threw. From the way the quills are distributed it appears the dog managed to hang on and throw the pesky thing around a bit. This puppy actually seems somewhat calm about the whole thing. Either one dead Porky or one very bald Porky out there, got to admire determination this dog has under brutal conditions.
Removal of Porky Quills/infections can be nasty business, that puppy is going to be feeling this one for quite a while.

God I love it when poeple place an animals life above a persons. We people all need to die any way to make room for the freakn trees and animals.... WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA! kill all the tree huggers and that should clear the way for animal and tree expansion. I know how sweet of me to think of the trees and animals.

I'm pretty sure that is a pitbull terrier, they are a very dumb dog, work for a guy that breeded them in englewwod fla. they get hooked on something, they just won't quit!! saw about 10 of them kill a cow the one day out there, I will never own one!! but if you notice there is very little blood in the pictures, thats because they also have very thick skin!! & their jaws lock also, the dog might of gotten a hold of the porcupine & shook him, that will all so put the needles in the skin!!, they are hard headed animals & do not listen well at all!! & the dog if given the chance will go after another if he see it & gets away from the owner!!
very dumb dogs!!

Yes, it was taken in a vet's office, and yes, all of the quills were removed and the dog was fine. (Just as stupid as ever, but perhaps more willing to give Mr. Porcupine a bit more respect.) LMAO

Here we call those breeds pig-dogs. It is in their nature to hold on and not let go. They literally lock their jaws.
Many a human and child here bear the scars. They are bred here for dog fights. Responsable pet owners do not aquire these dogs as they are a danger to strangers and kids.
But this is not the owner being cruel, this is definitely the nature of the dog.

Watch it, bub... I'm a tree hugger. I am not, however, a porcupine hugger. Some dogs just don't know when to back off. My dogs have been skunked at least a half dozen times... you'd think they'd learn something...

OK Ghost. Where in my post did I ever place the life of any animal above that of a human? Where in my post did I even mention a damn tree? My post was aimed at humans MISTREATING an animal, which in this case was questionable, but possible. I also speak out, loud an clear about humans mistreating humans. I resent your inuendo that I am a tree hugger, and your post in general. You have pissed me off, royally, and I don' think you really want to go there.

Frankly, I couldn't tell from the pic that it was a vet's office..still...the picture was for what?? souvenir???
And who's blood is that on some of the quills - the dog's? or the porcupine's??? It's gruesome...and it has quills in the nose...yeesh...

In fact, if there's any breed that was created purely for viciousness, it is the dachshund. It was originally bred to go into the burrows of wolverines and either kill them or dig them out.
The meanest dog I ever enountered, was a shaggy little black dog that a neighbor of mine owned. That stupid dog would come running up and take a chunk out of your calf if you weren't watching her.
The best dogs I've ever seen are German Shepherds and Rottweilers. Properly trained, they are the gentlest and most obedient and well-behaved dogs in the world. The military and police also use German Shepherds as K-9 units, and those dogs, on command, are vicious as hell.
It's the training and the owner. Not the breed.
