Thanks Frank. I've got the site bookmarked for when I finally wise up and kick this ridiculous addiction. It will probably take more than this course to accomplish it but it's a start. Tom

Would the owner of the propane torch, egg beater, pipe expander and vise grips please claim these items. They're lodged in my head and I need the space.

I think if your not ready to quit you won't, no matter what you do. I smoked for 30 years and thought I would smoke up until the day I die. But when my cluster hubby had a quadruple bypass in November and was told he had to quit or die, he quit, for him it was a little easier being locked up in the ccu for two weeks. Then one day the doc had his back to me and said who's been smoking? I said me, and that I was going to try and quit before he was released and that I was doing good I cut down alot, the doc said that's bullshit the only person your fooling is yourself, either your going to quit or your not. He was right, at that moment I made up my mind that I was not going to smoke anymore and I havn't touched a cigarrette since, it's been 8 1/2 months now. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, I gained 20 lbs. which I am attempting to lose. I still think about smoking but each day gets easier, I hear you never really lose the craving, so I take it one day at a time. It would be nice if there was a program that helped you get thru it but I think you have to really want to quit or it won't work.

Another excellent site: http://www.allencarrseasyway.com/ Allen Carr is just amazing... Like I said: Pulling rabbits out of hats: Making quitting so effortless... Li'l Boo: Congratulations, but you really don't want to spend the rest of your life fending off cravings. If I thought that's what I would have to do, I wouldn't even try to quit. Go through this site and it addresses the craves and what you can do about them: http://www.quitsmokingonline.com Good luck to you. If you've already got 8 months under your belt, you've totally done it. Now it's a matter of BELIEVING it!! My best to you!

Very best wishes, Pat. You can do it, I know you can. It's not the torture it's been made out to be.

Yup. Lots of luck kids. Uh...no way is quitting even close to effortless. Sometimes a jolt is what it takes. Mine was pretty benign. My dentist told me my clothes stunk. It's all it took. I was embarrassed. After a few days smokefree, I found out that he was right. I thank him all the time. Charlie
