OMIGOD! It's finally raining here!

I'm so happy, I could actually pee my pants! In the past 4 months, my little town has seen less than a total of 1.5 inches of rain. Next to California, Michigan is the largest producer of peaches, blueberries, strawberries, asperagus, apricots and grapes. Our farmers have been predicting disaster. Late this afternoon, it started to rain - and it still is! Maybe I won't have to water my gardens tomorrow. Just one of life's little pleasures - and what a wonderful sound it makes. Kris

After you have all you need for your gardens, lawns, and birdbath would your puleeeeessse send some here. It's so dry - brown grass, dead flowers, and a full blown watering ban! Sure hope you get as much as you need to help out your farmers - then send the rest up our way. Carol

Same here Kris. The first rain we had in many weeks was just a couple of days ago, and I just sat on my porch to listen and breathe it in. My garden is happy again, and our farmers are breathing a big sigh of relief.

| Do some apple and cherry pickin' too. and Christmas trees! Saw it coming across Lake Michigan toward you on the weather map at work today. Hope it helps everyone a lot over there.

Must have rained an inch in two minutes. Damn near blew off the clapboards and flickered the lights. Didn't cool it off much but it was needed. Charlie

Nice to hear that Kris!! It finally stopped raining here about 8 days ago. The good ol Pacific NW. Grandma, where you at? You must be near michigan to be that dry too huh? It rains about 10 to 10.5 months a year here. The seasons are Rain, More Rain, Still Raining, and Construction. The 6 weeks of summer is extremely beautiful here though, it almost makes it worth it. | Everytime I hear water running, I could pee my pants, Kris. I attributed it to an aging bladder. Maybe I'm just really happy!!

| WHINER!! Its practically a desert over in Salem. And its the Great Pacific Northwest ya sniviler. Barely rains at all in the valley. Lucky you don't live on the Coast where it actually rains.

God Save Michigan!! And all the
peaches, blueberries, strawberries, asperagus, apricots and grapes
thatI love! Yum! We are in the middle of what is predicted to be four days of rain here. We had rain steadily through day one and nothing but overcast days since. one more day to go and my grass is begging for more rain. Who would have thought ENGLAND would dry out?!!

It's been drier than a popcorn fart here in N/W Indiana too and we finally got some much needed rain last night. I'm sure that all of my friends in S/W Michigan (Coloma) were happy to see the rain too since most of them grow peaches, blueberries, and apples.

And then there's the flip side of the planet: "In Bombay, meteorologists said heavy rains and high winds were forecast to continue for another 48 hours, after a record 94 cm (37 inches) of rainfall in the north of the city during the previous day, the highest since 1974." 37 inches of rain in one day!

Today, in the wilds of western New York, it's 67/19 degrees. There is a weather god. Rainy but very comfortable. Gonna see if the rest of the area is still there. Charlie
