Thank you for caring everyone.. what an awful day its been. We've been up to London - all five of us - for Jabs appt (had to take the other two as no one available to look after them) Anyway, Jabs got on "fine". He and PG were having a great chat which was quite hilarious. PG asked Jabs to tell him all about girls as he has never really understood them... so Jasper did.. in excruciating detail! PG wants to see him again in Dec or at the start of his next cycle whichever comes first. There is no doubt in his mind he says that it IS CH and he also said Jasper is the youngest recorded case which was pretty hard to hear. Anyway, we are going to go with O2 at first and think about preventatives later, that is PG is already pretty certain what he will do but he wants to see how Jasper does without them first. As some of you know I was very uneasy last night about going up to London today. Its not often I feel like that but you would think I'd learn to listen by now wouldn't you?! We drove past Tavistock Square on the way in to his appointment and it was very poignant, flowers everywhere and preparations for a memorial service well under way. After Jaspers appt we took the kids to pizza hut in Victoria (we drove them past the London Eye and Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey cos they love all that stuff and then I decided in my wisdom that I wanted to go home past all the greek shops in North London and stock up.. We were driving down Tottenham Court Road when the Police all flew past and blocked the road.. thought there must have been an accident so we drove down back roads and back onto Southampton Row.. past Tavistock Square again in order to get back onto Tottenham Court Road further up. David switched the radio on as we were stuck in traffic by Tavistock Square to catch the news and it was them we heard we had been diverted because of a nail bomb at Warren St Tube.. I damn near died. We were THAT close to it and with the kids in the car too. We then drove past the University College Hospital being diverted away from where we wanted to go.. only to hear on the radio ten minutes later that there was an incident there. It was terrifying. I directed David back towards Trafalgar Square so we could go down Whitehall and back up Park Lane avoiding the whole West End.. and WHitehall was literally just being closed off by police cars and tape as we got there. It felt like being a rat in a trap and I can honestly say I was fighting hysteria at this point. We managed to drive down past Buckingham Palace and the Mall was infested with VIP's as there was a garden party today. It was damn near impossible to get out of London and I've never been so glad to get home in my life. I'm pretty close to tears right now I can tell you.

Helen, I'm so glad you're home. Thank you for checking in. I'm so sorry to hear about Jasper's diagnosis, and doubly saddened (and angered) at the latest terrorist attempt on London. Hang in there... And a hug for Jasper, too.

Oh Helen.... I wish I had your number so I could call you... I can't imagine how you're feeling right now. I did use Shepherd's Bush tube station often when I was in London, but it's not nearly the same. I'm so glad you guys got home safely! Sanna

Sounds like the doctor's visit part went fine. Good to hear that. Dr. Goadsby sounds like a wonderful man. As far as the rest of your trip, my heart goes out to you. I really can't imagine how you felt as you ran into roadblock after roadblock. I am glad you all made it home okay. Now, take a deep breath and let it all out. Love and hugs from the Okie contingent of your US family.

Helen, Good to hear you got on okay. May Jasper's cycles be few and far, far in between (or better yet, may he also be youngest on record to grow out of them . Sounds like quite a seen. i'm imagining the scene and from my silly yank perspective, imagining a lot of "bloody hell, this, and bloody hell that" going on in the car on the way. Glad you're safe. Scott

| Helen! Thank GOD you are all ok! I don't know why, but I had the image of you near the clock in my head this morning (and I've never been to London) when I heard about the news! In my mind you were ok, but I was very very worried because we all knew you'd be in the area. My heart goes out to you for Jasper, though I think if he's as spunky and mischievous as you lot are , then he will get on like a champ. Prof. Goadsby must have been tickled to hear his philosophies lol! Love you and I'm glad you are all ok. Pepper

What a story Helen and I'm concerned about Jasper of course but this shit..... Every now and then the real world intrudes but frankly, I'd rather it be something different and not so damn close to you. You people need a break. What a crumby way to get in the record books. CH, I mean. Charlie
