Wow. So many wonderful comments concerning the convention. I want you all to know that this convention was a real team effort. I cannot say enough about this OUCH team and so many others that pitched in willingly without mumbling or grumbling. But I am going to try... Poor Frank didn't get to sleep in one single morning. He was up with the rest of us at 7am lugging boxes and helping out. Frank you are truly a blessing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your heartfelt words and genuine efforts really helped us all. Thank you. Chris...my GOSH! I'm telling you this woman is totally fanfreakintastic. From airport pickups to registration to the OUCH store to assisting with preparing to the auction...lugging boxes, packing boxes, inventory, etc. She never stopped until Saturday night...then my sister and I got stinking drunk. But not so drunk that when Chuck got hit in the wee hours of the morning, she and I and Bill were all right there helping him through. Seems no amount of alcohol can dull the compassion we all have for one another. Instinct guides us...an understanding of pure pain drives us. Chris has this instinct and understanding and in my time at OUCH I have NEVER seen anyone hit the ground running like this woman. I see a brighter future for OUCH with her as a part of the team! I am honored to work with you and to fight side by side to better OUCH and to rid us all of this horrible affliction. Chuck, you know I love you, but next time you want ice taken to your room do you mind if I use an ice bucket instead? I do NOT think there is enough room for that much ice in my bra!! I want you to know that I never EVER let anyone see me cry during a hit...you were the first. Chuck saw me through the most difficult part of the convention for me personally...you see, Dr. Rosen's presentation ran over on time and I had already been hit two hours before it was time for me to get on stage. We lost a lot of folks in that meeting due to a very large weather front coming through. Redd helped me with 02 in the hall and Chuck with the ice on the first bad hit. Then not two minutes before I was due to give my presentaion I got tagged again! Before it got completely ramped up I addressed the membership read over a quick summary and announced when to return for dinner. Disappointment and pain took over after that. Chuck took me to the hospitality suite and got me ice and 02 and after the 02 was obviously not going to work I did a Zomig nasal spray (courtesy of a cluster angel). Chuck is one HELL of a supporter. I cried in pain and I cried because I felt I had let you all down. I WILL hold true to my promise and email or snail mail each and every one of you the entire presentation...the power point slides total 64 and that is not including the attachments. I hate the beast for intruding and will NOT let him keep me from fulfilling my goal of helping Clusterheads survive day to day life. Bill, I don't know where I would be without your voice of reason (and your car driving to and fro from DFW airport ) I really got to know you a little better and look forward to working with you over on OUCH for a bigger and brighter future for ALL clusterheads EVERYWHERE. I see your passion in your vision and dedication. It is truly an inspiration. I am proud to call you my friend and even more proud that you call me yours. Redd, my sis! You kept things going especially in the support department. I don't think there was but a handful of people who got hit that you were not right there with 02, ice, a hand to hold or just to stand by and make sure no one got bothered or hurt. KUDOS to YOU my sister. It is wonderful to see a sufferer also be such an excellent supporter. Linda and Jim, I can't see you as anything other than together. Therefore you have to share a paragraph too! You two are some of the most kind and caring people I have ever met. The passion and compassion for OUCH and for Cluster Headache sufferers showed in every moment you were there. Linda, the massage was wonderful (Goodnight Gracie ) and Jim, I look forward to working with you and building a strong framework on the newly solidified foundation that OUCH now rests upon. Jim has one hell of a sense of humor and Linda why her heart is pure gold. (Chuck apparantly tried to take a picture of it lol . ) (continued)

Gator...my buddy...my friend...your dedication to OUCH and your willingness to help is so amazing. I appreciate all your help with manning the store and keeping things in line. More importantly, I appreciate your "watching over" one of my favorite clusterheads when he was not able to watch over himself. In your hands and under your watchful eye, I knew he was safe. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. The Cluster Headache program you put together is simply amazing. I finally watched it tonight and laughed and cried. Excellent job my friend. Your wife Jane is a lovely woman and I plan to get up there to visit with you and for more cajun food and laughter as soon as I can! See you soon. Jean and Jackie...you two are always attached at the hip so I am going to say this to the both of you. Your encouragement kept me going through this whole event. When I would feel down and exhausted and ready to give up one or both of you would say those words that were said to me (and you know what they are) and that motivated me to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get 'er done. More importantly, you had faith in me when others may not have. For that I am eternally grateful It has been a long road in the last year for me and you both have been right there encouraging me through the whole thing...not just on the topic of OUCH, but on the whole of my life. Thank you. Rori, I know how hard you worked to make the gameshow and the auction a success. I feel so privledged to have you as a friend and on board with OUCH. Folks, keep an eye on this woman...she is going to do great things for OUCH...I just feel it! I am sorry you still had moments of morning sickness and that you felt pukey. I wish I could have helped you more! I will be in touch my sister, we have much to do! Steve (KOP), your effort in attending this convention means more to me than you can ever imagine. I wanted you to be here to see all the hard work and effort that went into making this a success and wanted to share the whole experience with you. You know how much you mean to me. Thank you for being our host for the game show. Your ability to make people laugh never ceases to amaze me and I am glad you shared in your short time here at the convention to entertain us all and help us forget about the pain, if only for a brief period of time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Redneck, you are one of my dearest friends in life and I was happier than a pig in shit to finally meet you! Your kind eyes match your kind heart. I know I know I'm not s'posed ta tell anybody...but I hate to tell you this...they figured it out all on their own. You wife Carolyn is wonderful! I look forward to meeting you two in Shreveport someday soon!! You are too close to my heart for me not to see you as soon as I can. Your help with the audio visual equipment was invaluable to me. Thank you so much, as your help facilitated the whole program on saturday! Peppermint, aka Patty, aka my best supporter not only with clusters but also with my life. What would I have done without you when I was having a nervous breakdown on Friday! You MADE me sit down, calm down and WRITE DOWN what was left to be done and you helped me get all the junk out of my head that needed to be purged. You sat with me while I cried (Frank did some of that too, in the lobby) and let me get all my frustration and pent up emotion out. Then you made me pull myself up by the bootstraps and get going again...this time with a list and a clear head. Your help with the presentation was a priceless gift to me. I will be eternally grateful. DJ, I owe you a public apology. I failed to have you stand and be recognized for all that you have done for clusterheadache sufferers everywhere. For that I am truly sorry. It was a HUGE mistake on my part and one I will not forgive myself for any time soon. I want you to know that without CH.com there would have been no place for people to meet to even conceive the idea of OUCH to begin with. We owe you a lot, and I hope you will accept this as my apology. There are so many people who pitched in to make this convention a success...the people who donated their time, their money, their craft or skill and did it all for the love of their fellow clusterheads. I can't name all of you here but know you are in my thoughts and prayers every day. I love all of you to bits (a phrase I picked up from Helen). Anytime someone said anything positive about the convention I answer the same way...it is a Labor of Love. Just as I tended to the small details and tried to make sure you were in the best hands and care possible here in Dallas, I plan to exercise that same care and attention to detail when it comes to serving OUCH. And so do these folks...as well as your officers and BoD not pictured below. Thomas, Ken and Michelle. I hope that you will join us in moving OUCH forward and on to better and bigger things! Thank you to all who attended this year's convention. It was YOU that truly made it special. DD

Donna, Dayum girl! You have spent so much time giving credit to others. To everyone at CH.com and all members of OUCH: Donna technically handled all specifics of this convention by herself. She is the one who spent hours with the hotel staff, and hours going back and forth to tend to last minute details. Donna handled the contact with Dr. Rosen and waited very patiently for him to get his itenerary to her. Donna personally handled the choices for the banquet meal, and also for the BoD meeting with the OUCH attorney. Donna handled all this....plus handling her position as VP of OUCH. There were many details to tend too. She never stumbled, never faltered. Even when the beast tried to get her down.....she fought like a trooper. Donna has a passion and undying love for OUCH and she has done a superb job...not only as Convention host, but as VP of OUCH. To those who said she could never pull this off by herself, eat your words....or eat crow or whatever floats your boat. You know who you are....so I'll not post names. If you are as dedicated as you pretend to be, you would not have made this statement. I personally thank you...for not attending this convention. Donna....you are one helluva lady. Thank you for your dedication....your love....and your support. Jean

Gotta add my accolades as well. Donna did a bang up job. I never had a doubt. She is the type that you just give her a job and don't worry about it. It will get done. P.S. Jean, not bad girl. Tell us how you really feel. Wait, no need I know how you feel. Just read em their rights.

Donna, From what everyone (those who attended) has written about the convention, it seems you have done an excellent job in pulling everything off. I really wish I could have come, if only to experience your spectacular planning. You definately deserve an award, but not just for the convention, but for being so dedicated to your fellow sufferers not only through OUCH, but also through ch.com. Congratulations on a job well done! love ya, mel
