Dalcon musings.....

I've been trying for the last two hours to put thoughts to the keyboard and have had very little success. I'm not sure I can ever relate what DalCon meant to me this year and that's unusual. For me to be unable to express myself through the written word is a new experience indeed. I won't try to name everyone out of fear I'll leave someone out. I'll just say to everyone I met, both old friends, and new friends, thanks for the memories. My family has grown...... Regrets......only one. I can not think of even one person I got to talk to as much as I wanted. A minute, or an hour....it's never enough. Never. Ch changes a person, down to the soul. Being in the company of fellow sufferers changes one even more. One last thought......... I'm a firm believer that everything that happens, happens for a reason. If we are lucky, we eventually discover what that reason is. For so long, I tried to make sense of CH.....what reason could their possibly be for such a hellish nightmare? For me at least, the reason seems to be this......without CH appearing in my life, I'd be without some of the best friends I'll ever have. Thank you all.... Bill

I've always said that as bad as CH is...good things have come from it. Can't put a dollar value on the love and compassion I've experienced because of CH. Your friendship, and the friendship of others, mean more to me than anything in this world. Hope you know how special you are to me, Bill. Love, Jean

Bill, although we first met at NashCon, I didn't get much of a chance to talk with you there. This time, it was truly an honor to get to know you better. Thank you for all of your work and dedication to OUCH, for the unending airport shuttle runs, and even putting up with my antics.

It was a great thing. The hotel is immense...but then everything in Texas has to be. They need a shuttle to the airport but it was a very comfortable place. They kept the barroom as cool as the drinks. Everybody was great and I miss them all....even Chuck. Shit. I even liked having to land in OK City to avoid the storm. Now I can add that to my list. My luggage is probably still enjoying its trip to Pittsburgh but we think we have a handle on it. Those British types were lots of fun, even if they do drive on the wrong side of the road. Donna was amazing too. I loved meeting you all...even those right wingers. I can't keep up with these youngsters. Dave keeps on top of things more than I, even if we are poles apart. Gator is a very articulate type too. No way I can do this right so I'll sign off. I had a great time, didn't get too drunk and enjoyed every minute...even if I did wear the same shirt for three days. Charlie (A special thank you to Steve for dragging to the Clinic for extra pills and to target, etc. What a guy. I owe ya)
