We are in an extraordinarily active hurricane season, which officially ends November 30th. Already 5 named storms, 2 of which are hurricanes. Very unusual for July. Normally, the worst is August-September.... I'm getting nervouse. I ordered my shutters back in March, and only tomorrow are they going to go measure my house, then 2 more weeks before they install..... I'm praying nothing happens next week while I'm out of town on vacation, with no cell phone, no TV, no radio and no internet.... BTW, i live in Hollywood FLA, about 1/2 mile from the ocean.

It's not so bad. We get plenty of warning when a hurricane comes, my house was built in 1997 and will withstand 180 mph winds, as long as my windows are covered. I have only been hit once in the past 7 years, it was by Hurricane Irene. Last year all the hurricanes missed us. The other 360 days of the year I get to go to the beach almost daily, either to swim, run, eat, drink, or just watch the funny canadians swimming in the ocean when it's 50 degrees. They remind me of penguins. Living by the ocean is really very nice. You get that ocean smell in the morning when the wind is blowing west, there are lots of birds around. I wouldn't live anywhere else. If you think about it, there is always something about where you live. Whey do you live? Oh, by the way, I think I may be alittle insane

This is where I live, I would not live anywhere else in the world.. I am about 10 minutes to the Beach... About 40 minutes to Busch Gardens & Adventure Island (my Favorite place to spend days off work). About 2 hrs drive to Universal Studios & Disney.. Its worth it riding out the HURRICANES.... This is why we live where we live... Next Question ...????

Would the owner of the propane torch, egg beater, pipe expander and vise grips please claim these items. They're lodged in my head and I need the space. (burnt-toast)
