...because the Clusterheads are arriving in Texas!!
After work I headed over to the convention hotel to meet and greet the first of the arrivals!
I went to the front desk and called Helen's room. No answer...I was afraid I had missed them and they had left for dinner. My second call I got in touch with Frank who met me down in the hotel bar.
While waiting on Frank I sat down at a table next to a group of about six folks...Over the conversation I hear this distinctly British accent...IT WAS HELEN!! I looked over at her and we immediately knew each other!! What a wonderful woman she is! David her husband is a great guy too!! Frank arrived and he and I talked for a while and waited on Helen and David (who left to go eat) to get back. It's like we just talked to each other yesterday!
Bill arrived shortly after 8pm and joined in the conversation. We all sat up and talked for a bit longer. OUCH, Clusters, Kids, everything. I am sure there will be more to talk about today! Got home last night pretty late and worked on a few final details for convention.
Chris called me eaaaaaarly this morning she was at the airport and was getting ready to board a plane and head here for Dallas!! I am meeting her at the hotel at noon today!!
Just a little "play by play" info !
I can't wait for the rest of you to arrive!!

I can't wait to get there tomorrow. I have a full day of getting affars in order here, get packed, spend the evening with the kids. Right now I need to get my e-tickets taken care of and printed off. I want to be sure I'm all set with my flight since I head out bright and early in the morning....
DD my brother wants me to be sure to bring him back a Lone Star Beer belt buckle...think you know where I can get one?

It is just after 4am here. I came home after spending the day with some really wonderful people and completely fell out. So now I am up putting the finishing touches on the presention for the education sessions.
I started off the day by "doing lunch" with Chris and Frank at a local restaurant called Humperdink's (insert your own joke here). Then we scooted on over to my office and loaded MOST of the cardboard mountain of boxes into Chris' rental and hauled them up to her room in the hotel. Going back for the rest of them later today.
Helen, in her infinite wisdom , went and did some sight seeing around the DFW area (I will let her tell you about all the "studs" she saw at the Fort Worth Stock Yards.)
Frank and Chris and I visited the Business Center in the hotel and we took great pleasure in bookmarking CH.com on the computers there.
Bill came back and between cigarette breaks on the patio we (Chris, Bill, Frank and myself) put together the goody bags up in Chris' room. Chris got pictures of the "stable of cowboys that I promised to Redd
After that we mapped out our plan of attack on DFW to pick up the incoming clusterheads. Everyone went back to their rooms to rest up before dinner. Chris and Bill went out to get a steak that I think Bill will be digesting for a week (He SWEARS it was four inches thick) while Frank and I met Helen at MacArthur's Restaurant (located in the hotel) for quesadilla's. Helen said she was still full from breakfast and lunch (even the MEALS are bigger here in Texas).
I started getting hit at the dinner table (nothing major, about a 5, no headbanging involved, but still ill-timed and painful) and Frank picked up on it right away. Helen and Frank understandingly continued on with the conversation and because I knew that they knew I felt no great need to rush away or hide (we were the only people in the restaurant at the time).
If there is an upside to having clusters it is that when you are in the presence of another clusterhead you DO NOT have to explain what is happening to you. After about 30 minutes of my face sliding off my skull things were back to normal and we moved out into the bar.
Then we all met in the bar. I STILL have not had a single alcoholic beverage! Helen brought me some wonderful printed materials from OUCH UK that we can use in brainstorming for OUCH US. More talk about clusters, practical jokes, irritating relatives, and so on...
I bailed close to midnight and came home to get a couple of hours of sleep. Tonight I will be staying at the hotel and wont have to worry about driving home. Think I might just have a drink (or five) tonight
Bill or Chris should be posting some pictures later today. Although, we will be pretty busy doing airport pickups throughout most of the day.
I'm going to get back to work now. Then I have to go clean out my car! I don't think anyone wants to find the petrified french fries from my kids happy meals.

Well everyone it is flippin' brilliant here! I've met up with my penpal Laurie for the first time ever and we've been writing to each other for the past ten years! Its been fantastic. I don't think I ever want to eat again though.. the size of the meals here is unbelievable! We had steaks yesterday at the stockyard in Fort Worth and apart from being the most delicious steak ever in the hisotry of the world it was HUGE! I swear I had about half a cow on my plate and I only had a "little" one!
The hotel is superb. If you don't sleep well in these beds then there is just no pleasing you! I've met Donna and Bill and Frank so far. Donna is just lovely, I could sit and talk to her for hours (oh yes.. I did!! LOL) Bill... ladies beware! This man has the most gorgeous voice I have ever heard. It sends shivers up my spine! I wanted to tell everyone else to just be quiet and get him to read out the menu or ANYTHING just so he would keep talking!
I've got to say something nice about Frank now haven't I? (damn) Well... Franks here everyone.... and he is umm.. well, okay I'll be serious for once! He is great fun and I'm really glad I've got the chance to pick on my adopted baby bruvver for real instead of just online!
Will the rest of you shift your arses and get here please?!!! Oh and Redd.. I have eyeballs on stalks from looking at those studs.. pure muscle and that swaggering walk.... be still my heart!!
I'm telling you... they were HORNY!!
I shall take loads of pics later and start posting them for you!
Still can't believe I'm here. Its BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!!
