I am thinking about politics The next time you hear a politician use the words "billion", casually, think about whether you want that politician spending your tax dollars. A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into perspective: A billion seconds ago, it was 1959. A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive. A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate Washington spends it. have a nice day!!!

May also help to realize (and use this to light into the hoi polloi) that a billion is 1,000 Million! Not 10, not 100, but One Thousand Million.

Thoughts and feeling. Well last night I felt like I crawled back into that old depressed mode again. I didn't want to talk to anyone. My husband and roomate mentioned going out for dinner, I went along physically just not mentally. My head hurt and I figured that If I sat there and didn't say a word it wouldn't get so bad. The intensity increased some then I was able to distract myself for a brief moment and then got back to the house and slapped the O2 on. Lots of bad shadows and I am living in dread of what is around the corner. Afraid to speak because if I do I might awaken the beast more. It has been a bad few days. Thanks for the thread.

| Did you have tacos, Langa...? Besides that, I've been thinking about lots of things. Such as my rotten luck: my portuguese friend is coming to Finland, but only for a day and that day happends to be the very same day I'm leaving for Rome. And since my flight takes off at 8am and she arrives at 9am, we can't meet... And I'm thinking about heat. It's very hot indeed at my flat at the moment. Me & flatmates keep windows open 24/7 and have air conditioner, but no use. We are seriously considering moving into the shower... I've been reading a book by Dalai Lama (The Art Of Happiness). I'm nearly done. I have learned a lot about happiness, love, patience, pain and life in general. And I love that. I feel so greatful that I can learn new things about life every day. Once I stop that I believe that's the day that I'll die. I've been thinking lately what it's like to "live like you were dying". I've been thinking about it since Live8 concerts. I've wondered often what I'd do if I would have only few weeks to live. What would I do? And the truth is that I'm not sure. I bet I'd eat more pizza! And book few plane tickets. There are few places I'd like to see before it's too late... But besides that, I don't know what I'd do. But I do wish that I could live every day like it would be my last. Someone wise did point out that we all should "work like we'd live forever and love like we'd die tomorrow". That's what's been on my mind today. PF time to everybody, Sanna

Hmmm, I'm thinking about compiling a little list of all the treatments and therapies we've tried over the years. The pills, potions and poisons.................. Ah, yes, that's a nice idea. Anyone wanna play?

| The real treatments, or the crazy ones we've tried? Crazy one my mother had me try, more than once: Thinly sliced raw potatoes, soaked in vinegar, tied tightly around my forehead.

| Where I live - South Western PA there is absolutely no comparison to the Tex Mex I thoroughly enjoyed in Houston. Won't even pretend and try eating at a Mexican resturant up here any more. Tom

I'm thinking I'm proud that my Son opened a thread for open ended thoughts and feeling....about what ever anyone whats to talk about. Dyl, you are a compassionate soul and you've been learning alot about human nature and needs! In addition I've been thinking alot about the family here. I've seen the way those who have the ability, will rally to the aid of a sister or a brother in need. Though I wish none of had to be here, I wouldn't trade a one of you and I'm glad to call you family. I've been thinking about my job, and as much as some of the things that go on there really get under my skin, I can't fault them on the fact that they have put up with me and my head for the last year. They have understood when Mom was ill and I had to be at the hospital with her. And lastly, I've been thinking alot about how...no matter how tough times get sometimes. Whether it's money being tight, time being tight, or my sanity at the edge of going over the edge... No matter how down I get some days, I've really and truely been blessed. I have two healthy and (for the most part) happy well adjusted children. I have a job where they appreciate and at least make the attempt to understand what I go through. I have this family who actually *gets it*. I have a brother who checks in on me from time to time to make sure I'm ok. I may not have anyone to list on that *in case of emergency* slot in my wallet or with my file at work. But I've never had to use it in 40 years... I'm blessed. I'm really blessed.
