Pictures of the High Sierra last week

Last week I rode 900 miles in 3 days all over the High Sierra. Temperatures were in the 70's at 9000', 80's at 6000' and 90's in the valleys. Here are some pictures I took a few days ago. (not the world's greatest photographer, vig is. I took these with my old non-digital pocket camera) Reflections, Lake Mary, Mammoth Lakes near Yosemite

Wow, those are absolutely fukin' terrific Bob. Keen eye for a good scene. Just makes ya stop and say, "I gotta capture this dream scene." Bike's right cool too, seems the perfect way to do it, glad you had great weather throughout. Inspires many a jigsaw puzzle maker. Now that should be what drive-by shooting is all about. thanks for sharing that. Kevin M

Ya should continue North up 395 for another weekend to 97. Get a few pics up here in the Cascades. You and Vig sure have the eye. Don't believe BMonee about the rain. He's just a whiner. Has anybody heard from Marc? He takes some primo pics also. YMMV

Great pictures - Rocky looks like he's hiding something behind his back. Lose anything valuable on the trip? You may have some difficulty identifying him in a lineup. Tom

| So is this your actual pet? Isn't that a raccoon??? And he eats salami? (he sure is finicky isn't he? LOL) I'm intrigued. I never knew you could keep a raccoon as a pet (wait, that is a raccoon right? Did I spell raccoon right? ). Rocky is cute though. The first pic is my favorite. I decided I need a new life project...I will buy a bike and learn to ride it... Langa

No, it's not my actual pet. Yes, it's a raccoon, a wild animal, but most wild animals are very friendly with me. Salami is a raccoon's favorite food, bears love it too. Look in your Yellow Pages under Motorcycle Riding Instruction. You can probably find a place nearby where they train you how to ride using their bikes before you decide to buy one. BB

| As opposed to that long list of human food items that Raccoons and Bears turn their nose up at.

Salami is special to them, really. If you park a car overnight at Yosemite with a salami in the car and the windows rolled up, the bears will get it. They jump up and down on the roof of the car until the top of the doors pop open, then they rip the top half of the door out with their claws and get in the car to get the salami. BB
