Did everyone survive?

I had a damn good weekend. Friday started with a cookout at my house with the in-laws, after dinner we blew shit up.
Saturday I helped the neighbor set up for the BIG bash (only one ER trip, due to a faulty morter tube) great band great fireworks display and after that, I don't remember much.
Sunday, dropped the kids off at camp for the week, came home and wached some movies, just the wife and me.
Monday, went to a parade and then went canoeing with another couple and again, don't remember much after that. Went home and got a phone call and had to go get our daughter cause she was home sick.

I stayed at my house on the beach all weekend. Me the dog and a fishing pole.

And a billion girls in bathing suits, cook outs, fireworks, pool party, disc jockey, boats, and bonfires.

It was sheer hell.

We were invited to my daughter’s neighborhood. The folks there were having a big block party. BBQ, games for the kids, and lighting fireworks after dark. So that the daughter could have freedom (from the kids) to help get things organized and the party started on time we took the grandkids early in the morning.

The party was start at noon. We got the ice chest, lawn chairs, sun block in the car and ready to go.
“Load ‘em up. Everyone in the car. Time to get r done.”

Then the disaster started to happen. It was as if a very black cloud came over us. It was like an earthquake shaking the car, lightning was striking, famine and fire and pestilence were about to over come us. It was like a war of the worlds.

But, we finally got the boys buckled in their car seats. We’re ready for the journey to the other side of town, about 5 blocks away. We back out of the driveway and the 6 year old says
“Are we there yet?”
And the 3 year old informs us
“I have to poop.”

Pull back in the driveway. Get the little one out of the car. On the way to the bathroom he had to stop and throw a Frisbee up on the roof and squash a bug with his bare foot.
On to the potty and wait. And wait. “Are you done yet” I say as I look in on him and find him counting his toes. “I have eleven toes” He says, pointing to his left foot.
“Are you done with your poop?
“No, I don’t have to poop”

Please re-read the third paragraph above.

After all that things calmed down and the day became merely a nightmare.

It was danged good when 3 o’clock came. I stopped at the donut shop on the way to work.

LMAO, Bob!!

Kids.... *tearing hair out* They're great!  laugh

Lit off BIG fireworks last night, and then had some Roman candles. Julia told me that the big fireworks scared her so bad, that she almost died, had a heart attack, and wet her pants. (In that order) Later, as I was tucking her in, she told me that she really wasn't scared. LOL  laugh

Visiting family, hotdogs, movies, swimming, volleyball, fishing, cookouts, fireworks, and band concerts were things that I and my family didn't do or participate in.

I did clip my hedges and bag up packing material for recycling though. I'm thinking about mowing the lawn tonight. The strain of all this if very trying.

I don't dare set off the fireworks I have had for so long. Some of them are old enough to be really dangerous and they are technically illegal in New York State but it's not seriously enforced so long as there are no complaints.

Had a nice 3 hour ride down south for the veterans memorial party......it's a big annual bash ! Went fine till we crawled in the tent to crash and our neighbors in the van that decided to park 10 feet from us and back in cranked up the bluegrass music till 6:00 am.....Brad slammed there back doors but the music still filter'd out keeping us awake all nite......arghhhhhh ! Fineally someone else from our campsite stormed out of his tent and told them to SHUT IT OFF !!! No sleep that nite at all. One of our younger friends got a bit too drunk and got mad at someone and tried to leave on someone elses bike.......luckily the neighbors were cool with it but it could of gotten ugly ! Food vendor didn't show up so someone else did on last minute notice. Got tired of hot dogs and elephant ball sandwiches.....blech. Good thing we took some junk food.....and lots of beer. Great fireworks....lots of friends. We had a blast......but the second band kinda sucked and the Miss Freedom rally contest looked more like a livestock sale. Moooooooo-me Pam
