I have been under alot of stress and strain the last few months. Many things have happened I haven't mentioned here. Apparently though it seems I have been ready to blow a head gasket - seriously. I went to the Doc on Monday and when they took my bp it was 169/91! My Doc kind of freaked on it, and put me on bp meds immediately (Toprol XL) . I have been sick the last couple of days and a little down due to feeling like I've been beaten to a pulp, plus the frantics CH's. My buddy Phil said that all weekend everytime he saw me I was either in an attack, going into one or coming out of one. It kind of messed with him too. There are alot of drawbacks to moving in here, like I have no privacy or anything, and pretty much just crash on the sofa after they are done with wrestling fests until 3am. I can adjust though. After everything I've been through, this ain't nothing! Though, the loss of privacy means I can no longer sleep nude, watch Conan O'Brien buckass nekkid, or dance around in my undies while listening to "Frampton Comes Alive." Also, I can't keep my midget porn here either. Internet access is limited here, as it is off more than it is on. I am going to convention, but since I don't get my check until the 1st, everything I do will basically be last minute. I am also trying to get in touch with my cousin Shane who lives in the Dallas area in hopes of hanging with him a bit while I am there. He is in remission friom throat cancer (at only 28 ) and from what I've been told, if it returns, it will be fatal the 2nd time around. Also can't wait to meet more new clusterheads. Like I said, everything is last minute, but right now other things are pressing. I didn't get my power turned back on (long story) , so am forced to pack in the heat of the day with no air and little light. I have also found out since I haven't been staying at my place, someone has tried twice to break in, so anxious to get everything out soon. UGH! It's fucking true. I AM Shleprock! Doesn't matter. I have only begun to fuckup fight. Peace, LYG and will try to check in again soon. Carl D *PS - Linda, I'll do what I can to try and round up an acoustic geetar before Dallas so I can play for you guys but no promises. Mine got wrecked exactly one year ago, which was why I didn'tr have on in Nashville, DavCon, or right now.

Talk to your doc about verapamil - it not only prevents clusters, but also its main use is to control blood pressure. Don't know if it is right for you, but maybe you could zap two problems with one pill (assuming you aren't on it already).

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Why did those people have ya move in if they didn't have a spare room......doesn't that mess with everyone's privacey ? Gee ya gotta wait till they go to bed to kick back...I was thinkin ya'd have yer own room. That sorta situation could get stressy I'd think where you were livein smack in the middle of there house and life. Guess you'll have to make it work esp if it is helpin you financially....they must be cool people to of asked ya to move in like that. Brad's on linisopril (spelling) 20mg's for BP........he took verapimil when he was in cycle so not sure if he would have to switch or stay on what he is on now (he's still outa cycle luckily). Also lexipro I think it's called for the antidepressant crap for stress and 'everyday thrills and spills' factor. Do those people have a big closet where you live......if so I'd be makein a nest. Room with a door Pam

I used to have my room onthe sofa too. From age 8 to 16 that was my spot. seems no one ever wonders if you are tired and want to rest...they just live on until they crash.... I know how it goes. At least you don't have them migraines... then you'dhave to steal their bedroom to get pain relief. Just hang in there. Everyone always regrets the changes at first. I had found a perfect little house for my hubby and me, and then once we moved in I was all upset and drepessed because it was all wrong for us.... but you adapt, and make do and learn from it all. it okay to be a little blue. especially about having to wear stupid clothes like, all the time... but you know... it does get easier and better. At least you aren't sitting home all alone wondering if you are going crazy. You have witnesses to verify that yes, you are crazy... just think, in a few more days youget a vacation from the livingroom couch. that should tie you through the next few days.....

Carl, I'm no Doctor, but I use to play one as a kid. But the fact that your top (is it systolic...always forget which one is which) is so high 169 and the lower number is high average 91. It sounds like 1) You were really stressed right before they took it... or...2) Did you have a cigarette right before they took it. Either one of these can give you those type of BP numbers. You need to take it 3 times a day for a few days...all at different levels of daily stress i.e....when you wake up. when your at work and right before you go to bed. Do that for a few days then you'll get a more accurate picture of your actual blood pressure. Make sure you take the BP meds your Doc gave you and like I said it's real imperative that you keep checking your BP...even though money's tight...go to a Pharmacy or mall where the have those BP machines you can use for free. There's nothing more important then your health. PS wishing I was going to the convention. I would bring my Ibanez 12 string acoustic. It's got a Markley Pick-up a mouse amp. The action is beautiful. Hang in there, bro. Jimmy

Well, hell Carl. Sounds like every day's just another shitty day in paradise, eh? I'd pretty much go bonkers (okay, more bonkerser?) without a little privacy now and then. I had the break in thing happen to me when I moved from Enid to Stillwater. Bunch of damned kids broke in with spray paint cans and marked the place up pretty good as well as smashing a few windows. I had most of my stuff out by then, but it made cleaning up a bitch. If you will remind me closer to time for DCon, I'll bring my old gitfiddle with me. I'll have to dig it out of the back of the closet and after all this time it will definitely need some new strings. Geez, I haven't played in so many years it ain't funny. I bought this guitar through the Army & Air Force Exchange Service's mail order catalog back in 1983 when I was stationed in Greenland. Back then I played several times a day. Now, I do manage to look at it at least twice every time I move - once loading it into the truck and once unloading it. Sad, really. Anyways, hang it there, dude. See you in Dallas!

| Not sure what factors causd the elevation, but at the time of the office visit felt okay. I had a BP kit at one time. Guess it looks like I need to get another one. on Jun 17th, 2005, 9:28pm, Jonny wrote: the dudes been chronic for 100 years...hes tried it all. |
| Only 100 years? Hell it feels like it's been longer. LOL. Maybe I had CH in a past life too. Actually the Verapamil worked wonders when I was going to MHNI when I lived in MI. It worked to keep the beast at bay, but then after going chronic it did nothing for me. I have learned though that since it has "been awhile" I am retrying things that didn't work before. When I first tried Imitrex, niether dose worked to abort an attack - so I wrote that one off. Then in August of '03 a local Clusterhead brought me some to try. What do you know - it worked! Now if I could just get more than 4 vials a month! Coots, my old bands studio was what I refer to as "Dopesick Madhouse" there were so many strung out idiots coming and going. After staying there for awhile during the bands recordings, I can handle ANYTHING! Question is... how long will Phil and Sunny be able to deal with a clusterhead who is in high cycle? It already messed with Phil last weekend when I was getting hit every hour and couldn't get the bastages to abort (AXERT SUCKS!!! ) He was like "Damn dude, I'm sorry you have to go through that so much. I don't know how you take it." I just told him what I tell everyone else.... "I have no choice but to go through it and deal with it. It's not like I can say, "Oh, you know what? Today isn't good. Could you come back friday and skullfuck me some more?" Bro Gator - you'll be hearing from me sometime this week. BTW - Did anyone notice what album I mentioned dancing to in my skivvies in the above initial post? Didja notice which album the below banner is advertising? Coincidence, or secret sauce? For those who miss the Friday funnies, give me some time to finish moving and get readjusted and I promise I'll try to start the TGIF Funnies back up just as soon as I can possibly feel like it. Peace, Carl D *PS - When I arrive in Dallas... none of you will know who I am as I am coming incognito (no, that isn't a reference to drag. ) As Cartman might say "This'll be fucking shweet! "
