I am not going to make it to Dallas after all and I am going to rant so prepare....
Child support check bounced (2nd time) which in turn caused my checks that I wrote for bills to bounce. I have to move because I just can not afford this place anymore. I am going to have to use the money I was going to use for Dallas to get us moved. Being a single mom really sucks but you know what? I wouldn't go back to the life I had before for anything in this world. I guess there is always next year... look what happened to me this year - who knows what will happen between now and then. I had just mailed my registration check on Sunday, too! This bites the big one. 
I want a ton a pictures to look at from the convention...

In NM, writing a hot check for over $100 is a felony. Perhaps a call to your local District Attorney's office is in order? And once you know, perhaps a call to that sorry assed mofo threatening prosecution? Talk to your lawyer or the state about having the child support garnished by the state and paid to you in a state check. This way, they can go after his ass if he doesn't pay up. Get his sorry little butt thrown in jail right now if you can. That is wrong, wrong, wrong. Apart from the convention thing which is bad enough you need to be able to live and he is stopping you doing that. Call your solicitor/ legal whojimmywhatsit first thing and get them onto it.
He has to be stopped form doing this again. Once is bad, twice is taking the piss. No 3rd goes for him.

go to the courthouse explain the bounced check situation, they and the stae will garnish his wages. the checkwill come from the state. they do not take a cut. they will also get the money from the already bounced checks, retroactive. hope this helps jim

Karen, that really SUCKS!!! My friend was going through the same thing, and then she went to the state, now she gets her $$$. It may be a little late, but they do garnish his wages and she gets it eventually. I do hope things work out for you. I'm getting real sick and tired of all my friends having these deadbeat friggen dads that don't pay. Its pretty common. I do hope things get better, and yes you should get retro. Frig him.

Sounds like your ex should meet Jonny's boot!!!
Take care of first things first. There is always next convention or meet and greet and as time goes on each one grows bigger with even more interesting and even uglier clusterheads to boot (myself being no George Clooney. )

Ok, so I got things straight BUT now I have to wait for the child support to come through the state which means he has to pay it to them before they can send me the money. Good times. So - I may make it.... still don't know but I have had someone offer to pick my happy butt up & drive me down there!!! How freakin' cool are clusterheads? I do have to say its still not looking good. I would love to be there but at this point I can't commit. Thanks for all the great advice! I am takin' care of business but I'm still drowning over here!

OK this brings back memories big time. I raised my kids alone from their deadbeat drug addicted father who goes in and out of work depending if he is on the wagon or not. I went to the child support recovery in GA and when he works a cut goes straight to me. He will be paying from his SS checks. That is how much he owes. He recently made a comment how the kids were grown and why is he still paying. Bite me big time. I told him he owes till the day he dies. Just for the shit my kids went through alone is enough. Homeless and in a shelter when they were young. Never mind what I went through lost my home and everything. I can take it. But their faces and moving to a strange country and having their world taken away from them for that I will never forget, so he can basically kiss my big wide asss  I really went through some shit in life and through faith in God came back although I feel my kids are affected. We all are.
