Does this mean that airports are now going to have designated cigarette lighter people waiting outside the terminals? For a dollar tip, you can get someone to light your cig when you have a 2-3 hour layover at O'Hare or Detroit Metro? Kris

Lighters are OK in the terminal but no lighters on the planes. You can take 4 books of "safety" matches on the plane but none of the "strike anywhere" matches. Who makes up these stupid rules?

| Your Hibachi is fine, you just won't be able to light it...

I say it's a good time to open a Kiosk close to where incoming flights arrive at an airport near you and sell Bic lighters for about 5 bucks apiece Jim

I had recently started to think in terms of a trip to the States, but what with the anti-smoking obsession there, and rules like this, plus the silly visa and biometric passport complications, there is absolutely no way I shall ever bother now. Strangely, I don't think it'll put the terrorists off, just the tourists. Ah to be a trusted and dependable ally.... Dolly

| s'funny really. Those are actually EXACTLY the reasons why I feel quite happy about going! I wish we had a bit more of it going on here and then maybe I'd feel safer in my own country. When you hear of some of the things that have gone on at Gatwick and Heathrow it makes your hair curl.
