April 18, 1997 was a sad, sad day in my life.  Cry

I had just turned 17 few days earlier when a 3am phone call torn my world apart.  SadIt was a nurse, who let us know that my father had passed away after fighting against brain cancer for 6 months.

A lot has happened during these years. I miss my father a lot on days like today. I have been sad, depressed, angry and now fine about it.

But nothing will ever change the fact that when he died, I didn't lose only my father, I lost a close friend. They say that girls marry their fathers; I suppose that could be true - I do appreciate in a man the qualities my father had, such as honesty, trustworthyness, guts, great sense of humour...

There are so many things I'd tell my father if he'd be here today... I wish he'd be happy of the woman I've become. But I know that I see him every time I look into the mirror; my face shape is identical with his.

Tonight I'll light a candle to his memory in my room. I wish I'd be at my home city of Helsinki, so that I could visit dad's grave. I know mum will.

Rest in peace, dad. I miss you... Sad
