I live two blocks from QuickTrip. I was walking home with a QT bag with some groceries. A stupid Granite cop pulls up next to me and asks "What are you doing out this late?" Um, DUH? I just responded, "What does it look like?" He asked for my ID and (I've always wanted to do this) I waved my hand like a true Jedi would and said "You don't need to see any ID." The cop got out, so I fished out my wallet. The joke was over though when he had my hands on the car frisking me. I pointed to my apartment and he let me go. He told me next time not to be such a wise guy. In this town, I am lucky I didn't get arrested or Rodney Kinged. I am glad he let me go, as I am wanted in seven states for tearing those "DO NOT REMOVE" tags off of mattresses and pillows. Hardened Criminal, Freek with a feather in his cap

I'd have gotten an ass whuppin' I'm sure. I have no patience for that kind of crap. My attitude has always been that the local police work for me... My taxes pay for them. I probably would've said something like..."I'm walking home, dumbass...stop wasting the time I pay you for and go catch some badguys." Then I would've told him to find some tattooed, heavy metal type and harrass him instead.

Was the cop going to arrest you for carrying groceries home, or for being out of practice on your old Jedi tricks. ???

I know people in our town that got cuffed walkin home from work LATE nite (one guy was a college dude that worked as a bartender).....they keep tabs on late niters in case they jus robbed raped or pilaged to get that money to buy them things in that little bag. And gives em a reason to check you out......jus in case yer wanted. Apparently harden'd criminals only come out at nite. Guess sumone was bein a 'peeking tom' so the guy walkin fit the suspect list. Takes the fun outa goin out for dinner and a few drinks with freinds walkin or driven. Nite stalker Pam You can get arrested walkin around at nite the same as if you was cruisein late at nite......esp if ya got a beer. Towns around here have renegade cops. Stead of waitin fer DRUNKS to leave bars they jus pick n choose like a lottery. Someone has to be the decoy I guess.

Life is hell for us children of the night Carl. All they do is shine a spotlight on me and they quickly take off. I know I'm ugly but I'm startin' to get pissed. Charlie

I just saw a cop pull over a bike (not a motorcycle) for running a red light on my way home tonight. Sad.

Maybe I am wierd, but the same thing happened to me, many (TOO many!!!) years ago. I have a different outlook on it than the rest of you. I showed the officer my identification and answered his questions, and then I thanked him for keeping such a good eye on my neighborhood. I felt very good knowing that they were there, checking on people wandering around in the early morning hours. Just my outlook. I am glad they do that. Chuck

Back in the day I used to get stopped all the time at night. Maybe wearing the ski mask in July was a bad idea.

| Charlie I am going to get angry if I hear you talk like that anymore my friend. You aren't ugly...why, you had Edna and I fighting over you for Pete's sake. (I was wondering when you'd see this Jimi) Yes. Thank you Chuck for saying what a few of us think. Cops are not there just to harrasss us. Some of them give up their lives to save innocent victims. The rest are just doing their job of trying to make a differance by getting the streets safer. Linda

You guys are killing me! Seriously, just what the dr ordered for today. Been a very bad one, and have an appt with the Doc in the morning. Not sleeping again, getting hammered left and right and way extended on Trex (almost out!) Demanding o2 again tomorrow. Actually, I have no problem with cops. Never even been arrested for anything (and hope to keep it that way.)I've come close a few times though. I have a couple of friends who are cops. However, alot of the cops in this town are crooked bastages and like to harrass people for no reason. A childhood friend of mine became a cop with the GC police force, and wound up quitting because he felt like he could not perform to his capacity knowing the things he knew about a few comrades. I do know one thing: I want out of this fricken hell hole town. Beam me the fuck up already Scotty! Carl D
