Well meaning coworker...

I found in my mailbox at work today, a flier for a headache seminar being held at the Barnes and Noble bookstore next Monday.

Seems some *well meaning* coworker thinks it would be of help to me.  The title is...Do you have more than three headaces per year?

That include symptoms of...

*nausea*
*aggitation*
*innability to focus*
*etc*

Come to the seminar and find out the true cause and non-medical ways to relieve them forever.

Call for seating to the first 30 callers only.

Yadda yadda yadda...

No mention as to who is holding this so called seminar, and if it weren't some publicity stunt for the selling of a book it wouldn't be held in no damn Book Store...

Three HA's a year?  How about high cycle and at least that evey God Damned night...

Ignorance showes in some of the oddest places....

Sorry for the vent.

Well, it's the thought that counts, right? I've become more forgiving, I guess... Unless people experience CH for themselves, (and I wouldn't wish it on anyone), they will just never understand. They can't help being ignorant. Even if they read about it and you tell them about it, they just can't/don't/won't understand. But people are basically good and kind, and truly want to help out in some way. One thing that human beings aren't real good at, is feeling helpless. Observe people as they visit a terminally ill relative, or at a memorial service: They want so badly to DO something so that they will feel as though they are helping and contributing and lessening the pain somehow.

I've decided to be more gracious. My piano teacher gave me a bunch of herbal tea, last cycle. She also talked to me at length, about her chiropractor and brought me a pamphlet. I thanked her, smiled, and felt grateful for her kindness and willingness to help.

For now, that's about the best I can do, to keep from becoming bitter or lashing out and inflicting my pain on others.

Anyway.... FWIW (Which probably ain't much)  Undecided

I do understand that Frank...I guess it would be easier if I knew which of my coworkers put it there but the annonomus way in which it was done is what bothers me.  We are a very small office, there are 15 people in there, that includes Owner, all upper management and us pee-ons.

If they would have brought it to me personally I would have taken it better I suppose.  But to do this and not say who they were erks me.  It's as though they just don't care to understand and prefer to assume.  It's not like we don't all know some very personal things about each other.

Yeah... I hear what you're saying, Redd. Something like that, in a small office, and given anonymously, would feel more like a slap, wouldn't it?  Embarassed Undecidedhug

Are you sure my aunt isn't your co-worker...? I bet her knowledge about ch is as good... Tongue
Then again, I've noticed that people are so concentrated what happends in their lives that they don't really listen that well when I try to educate them about ch... maybe your colleague should go there! with ch leaflets! Wink

Some people refuse to listen and refuse to learn anything that takes them out of their comfort zone where they have all the answers in a nicely wrapped package.  Just write "Mind your own fucking business" on it with a big red magic marker and put a copy in everyone's box.  On second thought...maybe not.  Would be nice to be able to, though, eh?

I told you I don't play well with others.
