I was called into the Human Resources Director’s office this morning to discuss the fact that having a hickie on my neck was not professional. I was told that as part of Management I have to do first by example and the hickie on my neck was offending some employees. She even wanted me to sign a form stating that I was spoken to about this.
After I calmed down, I went on to explain that the mark on my neck was not a hickie but a lesion from Pytariosis caused by stress and almost told her that if I did have a hickie it would be somewhere no one could see like my ass for example! I decided against that  , and instead told her to rewrite the report with my explanation, attach a copy of my prescription for the special cream I have to use and then I’ll sign the report.
Honestly, are people that petty? I can laugh about this now, but was pretty ticked off at first.
Just thought I’d share my Monday event with my family…Go ahead and laugh. I’m sure my friends will when I tell them.

I was in Army Basic Training at Fort Jackson back in 1980. Delta Company (D-5-1) was comprised of 1 platoon of females and 3 platoons of males. After an entire basic training cycle of watching the female recruits from 1st Platoon, we were released for an on-post pass. Several of us managed to hook up with some of the female recruits and decided to go to the lake. It was all we could do to not have an orgy in the back of the cab on the way to the lake. As it was, the girls were sitting on the our laps and quite a bit of squirming was going on. After a very tension relieving afternoon in the woods by the lake (never did manage to go swimming) we all returned to our compaines. The next day at our final PT test before graduation, my drill sergeant noticed a fairly large hickie on my neck. He decided to have some fun. He dropped me for push-ups and tried to get the name of the female that made the mark on my neck. He was yelling about busting me and courts-martialling me for defacing government property. Several of the other drill sergeants noticed the commotion and decided to join in the fun. One would drop me for 20 and as soon as I would get up, another would drop me for 20 more. Everyone was watching, including the girls from 1st platoon. I know she was sweating bullets, worrying if I was gonna give in and tell. After probably 140 or so push-ups they decided I wasn't going to crack and sent me back to finish the PT test.
They got a kick out of it and I "protected the honor" of the female that gave me the hickie. After graduation, she...uh...showed her appreciation in a quite acceptable manner. No hickies this time, though. At least not on my neck.

I had a hickie on my neck once…I was 16 and got carried away . Well, I tried everything I could to get rid of it before my Mom came home from work. That crazy woman would've kicked my ass…I even did the comb routine, which made it worse…I decided to wear turtle necks instead…my friends came to my rescue and loan me some too…thankfully it wasn’t summer yet or my Mom would’ve been suspicious. Took about a week for that damn thing to go away.
Hickies are allowed now, just below the neck…

oh.. did you ever try the toothbrush thing? Its supposed to get rid or "soften"the look of hicky. It doesnt work.

I know, it almost makes it worse! LMAO! My mother caught me one time with one and she was like.. "are you into Heavy Petting" Im like, what the hell is that? Petting? Like you pet a dog or something? She cracks me up. Altho she was not very happy with me.

DOes you wearing makeup offend the same people... it could have been a mark from anything!
I went to work once when I was much younger after trying to just iron the collar of a shirt (had a jumper over it) but being lazy I didn't take the shirt off first so I burnt my neck! And yes. I got the mickey taken out of me royally but I was happy to let them think it wasn't an iron burn I can tell you!

I knew a girl in high school that used to come in with baseball sized hickies on her neck she wore proudly........talk about gross !!! Lots of buzzin about that one !

My husband and son have psrosis also and it is amazing what things people will accurse them of having. Some people lack brains as well as knowlege. Ted just ignores people. Sometimes if it is someone we know and will associate with on a longer term basis Ted will take the time.  Hope your feeling better.

Thanks Karla. Pitaryosis lesions are usually on the torso and hips with a "herald's patch" usually preceding the other lesions. Herald's patch being the biggest lesion. This time, the patch is on my chest and I have the lesion on my neck, besides another one on my breast...wtf? It usually lasts about a month then they disappear. And always after a long stressful period...one time I had like 20 on my back...  And I feel great...these things don't hurt or anything...weird.
Cootie...yes, I can imagine the buzz in the office over the supposed hickie...must've made a good lunch conversation piece...people have no life...
Miklos, "collected" a hickie? I didn't know you can collect hickies...

Be glad ya don't get shingles......they friggin HURT like hell ! Had that on my forehead and left a huge gash scar......I jus tell people I got axed. Strange how stress is......I broke out in hives "real bad" on our last vacation south. I get big welts that will last a few weeks. Looked nice on the beach. I sat in back of the van the entire trip and stayed there....them guys were drivien 100 mph draggin a big trailer weavein in and outa traffic. I figured the farther away from the windshield I was the better ! Beam me up spotty Pam
