Post-op Update #2

Well this surgery continues to be just a bundle of fun!  I was told that I should be fine to work this weekend (I work Maternity 3pm-11:30pm both Saturday and Sunday), but a little while ago I had to call out.  Granted, they told me I would be fine before I had the problems after surgery and had to be admitted...so maybe the stakes changed slightly!

As of this morning, I was still having some significant bleeding, and I'm not allowed to blow my nose or anything, so I just keep blotting at it.  My sinuses are also starting to drain like a SOB.

When I woke up this morning, I felt like total crap, so I just stayed in bed until around noon.  So then I got up, and I called out of work.  They had no problems believing me since I have almost no voice still and when I can talk, I sound completely congested.

After I called out, I then proceeded to get sick 3 times.  That is definitely NOT good for the nose bleeding, my throat, or my headaches.  But this time, I feel a little better now that I got sick.  Not like on the surgery day where it kept getting worse and worse and worse...  I think it was mostly due to the drainage.

So now I'm back in bed and waiting for a call back from ENT.

Wooohooooo party....

Thanks Gator,

Not doing so hot right now.  My nose REALLY hurts...  and the congestion is killing my head.  I have no voice because of the blood continuously running down my throat...we can imagine how great THAT is. haha

OK I'll stop complaining.  I just am in a shitload of pain right now...and they hardly gave me any pain meds for post-op pain, and so now they are almost gone and it is Friday night.  Gonna be a long weekend and week until my next appt on Thursday.

Still surviving up here in Philly...actually I have completely taken over my couch and family room. Smiley

I was miserable all day today until my mom got me up to go take a shower.  That helped a lot.  I'm very close to having sort of an airway through part of my nose.  It needs to keep on draining.

The fact that it is still bleeding and still draining is what sucks the most!  It feels great to be asleep because I don't have to deal with it, but when I wake up...I get to feel like I was hit by a mack truck.  First thing this morning (yeah this will sound gross), my mom got a bunch of our cloths damp and was just trying to clean up my face, neck, shoulders from how much drainage is going on.  It is sooooooooooooo gross....

All I have to say is...this better be very worth it!!!!

I am glad I decided not to work this weekend...I'm not looking forward to starting back up at the health district on Monday.  I definitely didn't get caught up on any work over spring break, and I didn't get to go out and have any wild parties, but hopefully this is a step forward towards feeling better.

Plus....I kind of have gained a new "supporter" of sorts this past week.  I met this guy, Dave, who is from my hometown online.  He and I went out twice last weekend.  Then, except for when I was admitted to the hospital Tuesday night, and last night cuz I felt like crap, he's been here every single day to check up on how I've been doing!  He's such a sweetie Smiley  He's coming over again tonight just for a little while before he gets to go out and hit the bar!  I would love a drink, but the idea of going out anywhere right now is just not even possible!!

He's the complete opposite of my last boyfriend in that he actually CARES about me.  Gee, what a concept!!  And I don't think too much to ask for in someone you are dating!

Will have to keep you posted on where this one goes... it's early yet. Smiley

So yeah...right now it literally feels like someone broke my  nose, but in the end..I'm really hoping this is all worth it!

ROFL that laugh comment is quite hilarious!  I didn't sleep last night because the left side of my nose now keeps exploding with nosebleeds.  Like all the sudden I wake up and I'm like...awwww damn it.

So right now my nose hurts like hell, I feel kinda nauseous because the blood is running into my stomach, and I'm a little concerned as to why I'm having such huge bleeding clots now 5 days after surgery!!

But still hanging in here....  Today is the last day of my spring break...ugh
