Just had the neck surgery on Thursday 3/6. Everything seems to have gone great. Got discharged from the hospital on Saturday.

The numbness in my arms & chest has been replaced by pain. (Which they say is a good thing Smiley).

I'm still recuperating and can't talk that well. But I'll keep you informed how it went in the long run.

Thanks,

Jimmy

Jimmy,

I'm glad to read you are out of the hospital and showing signs of improvement.  However, I am so sorry that improvement involves more pain.  Just point those thoughts towards the future and a less painful time.

Keep me posted on your success and experience.

My neurosurgeon appt. is today and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  I had to up my patch to 75mcg as well this week.

May your healing be quick and effective,
Renee

Thanks everyone!!!!

It seems like it's getting better everyday.

Renee,

Is the 75mcg working for you? I hope your feeling better, also. Hopefully the neuro gave you some good news.

Hang in there & let us know.

Thanks again.

Jimmy,

50mcg has been working well.

I saw the neurosurgeon yesterday and I go in today for an EMG, flexion/extension xray and a Myelogram and will get results on Tuesday.  Undecided

The problem is....my g.p. told me he would not refill the duragesic patch once I saw the neurosurgeon and I only have 2 patches left.  The neurosurgeon never offered any pain meds yesterday.  When I asked for an rx for the patch he told me he does not keep a controlled rx pad thus can't write for controlleds...WTF    Huh  Angry

I have 2 patches remaining that will get me thru until Tuesday only.  If surgery is required, it will not happen until week after next as his assistant surgeon is out of town next week.   Roll Eyes  I'm screwed for pain control after Tuesday.   Cry  What kind of neurosurgeon doesn't write for controlled substances?  And does he not prescribe something other than vicodin for post-surgery pain?  I'm allergic to all codeine meds.  Angry

Spittin' nails here and gonna be in trouble come Tuesday!  Will let ya know if I get any test results today.

Jimmy, please keep us posted as to your healing and post-surgical success.  Wink
